@Morello, Statikk, A question about Lee Sin and his changes

So I was really looking forward to the changes that had been proposed for Lee Sin. It is not that I dislike Lee because I rather enjoy playing him. I was saddened to hear that, because of an uproar of feedback, they were pulled. Why is that? It is confusing to me why the Lee Sin changes were pulled and yet some of the other more recent reworks that have received a downpour of, to put it delicately, unhappy feedback remained and went live.

Lee Sin was said to have many toxic elements to his kit: extremely fast snowballing, overpowering early game, and overwhelming mobility. Even if the changes are being "held back", which makes things even more confusing, what was the real driving force to these decisions. Is it because unlike the other reworks Lee Sin is viable in his current state? Was it a fear of Olafing (I am really starting to hate this reference) him during the season? What makes Lee Sin a special case in comparison to other champions?

PS: I really hope it wasn't because of how big Lee Sin's fan base is.
