why is ziggs minefield...
I still can not figure out why Ziggs minefield actually lasts 10 seconds. is there a particular reason it lasts so long? I would think 6 seconds would be more than lone enough.

Because other than massive aoe damage for teamfights, ziggs's main "thing" is zoning and keeping the enemy at bay while being able to farm and harass, making him a very strong pick. Also, a four second reduction would not be good because when he uses it to get blue from the jungler, a ziggs will usually throw the minefield to the blue and he will then make the blue walk through all the mines. Finally, the four second reduction would hurt him because he can sometimes use these as wards if he knows someone is coming from the bushes at mid lane to gank, at times scaring them off or damaging and slowing them to reduce the impact of the gank. This is not as strong a reason but it allows ziggs to be safer and utilizing what he was made for, zoning along with long range high damage aoe.
