5% crit runes on yasuo

for those that don't know crit isn't just random. every time you crit it lowers your chance to crit, and when you don't crit your chance to crit goes up. This makes crit worth more at first and less as you get more of it... the only exceptions to this are 0% and 100%, which are both absolute. so the difference between 99% crit and 100% crit can actually be VERY large

so I tend to grab 5% crit runes on yasuo to bring him up to 100%. any opinions on this or is there better ways to reach it than ie, shiv, and 5 crit runes?

I'm sorry but that is not true of crit. You have a flat % chance to crit at all times (assuming you bought an item with crit chance on it) which is unaffected by if you crit or not, it remains the same. Say I have 10% crit, that means 1 out of 10 strikes on avg should crit (2 in 10 on Yasuo). Just because 10 out of 10 don't crit that is just bad luck not based on if you crit before those ten hits or not. You can look it up on the LoL wiki. Crit chance is just that: a %chance to crit, it is not increased or decreased by landing or not landing a critical strike it is just based on percentages. That being said I used to like to start 5% crit runes on Yasuo cuz a crit at early lvls is always good even if it only hits for 140% dmg in yasuo's case that is still awesome. The only downside to that start is the lack of sustain because rather than taking the standard 4% lifesteal quints you want to take more AD to compensate for the loss in your marks. I like to go AD marks with 1 AD Quint and 2 LS quints now since I can stay in lane longer and I do more regular dmg with my q and autos. Also item 3093 is only 800g so that is easily attainable first back making the 5% redundant. This is a preference thing though so you may like the 5% better. Here is the Wiki link for you to read up on crit chance.
