What happened to Vi in LCS?

Simply an open question concerning one of my main champions, The nerfs to Vi a few patches ago hurt but i don't think they were in anyway back breaking, she is still a strong and i'm still able to just put the game on my back and carry with her. She is still amazing at diving/initiation, does insane damage with a trinity force/black cleaver, can build tanky, shreds armor, deals % max health damage and offers good peel/disruption with her Q and some CDR.

Despite this i've noticed that since the nerfs i have not seen her picked or banned at all in LCS. was it because of the nerfs? is it because of the meta? are there other factors at play?

I'd personally like to see her picked a little more, she has synergy with popular mid champions like yasuo, orianna, lulu, kayle, or anyone that can buff up or take advantage of her initiation, she counters enemies carries like twitch and lucian who rely on mobility with her hard/unavoidable CC and is flexible in her build, able to go full damage or tank or in-between.

what are everyone else's thoughts on Vi and LCS play?

No longer completely OP?

No longer viable for LCS play.

That's pretty much it. She now can't build full tank and still do lots of damage so that ruined her for a lot of LCS players.

She fits the meta pretty well at the moment, but there are other champs who are just better. I like where VI is (high mobility, moderate CC, %max health damage), but as Linna Excel said, she can't build full tank while still dealing tons of damage, so she's not competitive.

It's just that the players see stronger picks then Vi right now, so they are going after them instead.

Wasn't she initially only given some shine as a solution to the assassin-crawling meta (aside from being the hidden op #RIPPreNerfVi)?

The LCS is based off of champions being the "top tier" to be played. Literally, if it isn't considered op it's not played. An easy example to cite is Froggen's Anivia. Froggen IS anivia but he never played her in spring split because the meta didn't fit anivia and she wasn't "op". Even though he's a god on Anivia, simply put she was not op and there were stronger picks like ziggs, so he had to pick ziggs or another ap mid.

tl;dr: pros have to play the "op" champions to function since everyone can play champions nearly perfectly at that level so it comes down to numbers.

Feral Flare happened. Auto attack champs were better for a while. And feral brought nothing to vi kit.

Now that Kzh and panth has been nerfed, vi is starting to make a comeback but may or may not make the LCS stage. But she has a better chance now at least.

http://cloth5.com/patch-4-9-competitive-5v5-tier-list/ Vi still be good in soloq, she still be a good jungler like khazix. Example: Kha'zix at level 6 become best counterjungler if you evolve Q before, Riot just nerf his early damage because it was boring, but improve his mechanics("isolate").

Dpn't believe in LCS, LCS's meta destroys soloq. Some player become "crazy" when I play kassadin mid after rework, now he still permabanned. So, just believe in YOUR META.
