@Morello A question about Ezreal and Arcane Shift

So I have wondered this a long time but why doesn't Arcane Shift seek out champions before minions. This seems like the biggest gate that keeps AP Ezreal from being viable since actually hitting your target means getting right next to them and putting yourself in harms way. Way back at the start of season 3 Ez received a few changes that reduced his AP viability and it was said that ways to buff his AP play style would be looked into. Did anything ever happen with that? I suppose since Arcane shift has a pretty decent base value and ratio, any changes made would probably result in one or the others values getting reduced.

I have some ideas with regard to arcane shift but one in particular really seemed cool to me. There could be a very interesting way to tie Mystic Shot together with Arcane Shift and have them interact. If mystic shot gave an invisible mark that arcane shift looked for and prioritized when selecting its target it would create a real interesting play pattern for Ezreal. It would be a huge buff for AP Ez players and give AD Ez a bit of a mid game boost which he is kind of lacking if you are behind (I think so at least). There would definitely have to be changes to its base damage if this were implemented though and perhaps even its AP ratio. If its base damage was lowered to something like 50/95/140/185/230 it would keep Ezreals lvl 2 and 8 damage spike at a reasonable level in exchange for better consistency. The invisible mark couldn't last to long though. Probably no longer than 2 seconds before it dropped off, maybe even less. That way you have to make a quick decision whether or not to engage and not have the luxury of waiting for the exact right moment and still have the consistent damage.

These are just some thoughts I have and would love to hear what others think as well.

Interesting idea. I like the idea of skills interacting with each other, but I do feel like the values on shift should not be reduced. Going for the kill as AP Ez really requires using arcane shift for all that extra damage, but to do so puts you in dangerous territory, and removes your escape. You are sacrificing a lot of safety to kill, and that should be worth the damage it already has.
