Golden Health Crystal

Xelnath and Morello have been talking about fixing gold issues on supports and junglers for Season 4. Link: http://forums.euw.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=1375259

My idea is to make a new item that gives the same bonus as Ruby Crystal (+180 health) and a new passive. This item would then build into a Sightstone/Ruby Sightstone and give extra function to those items for a support while making it still undesirable for anyone laneing. As was brought up by Kira Omine it could be detrimental if not balanced properly but I'm sure that it could be balanced between item cost and amount of gold generated by the time it would become cost effective (refunded the item cost through gold generated, which if it was the same as Ruby Crystal would be 475 gold) that most laners would find it cost ineffective to buy and detrimental to their kit. Where a support would welcome a gold increase on an item that they already buy.

Golden Health Crystal (name negotiable) +180 Health Passive Resistance (or some other name) - Give X amount of gp per 10 seconds based on current creepscore. (lower the creepscore more likely to give X gold, higher creepscore gives less or no gold based on tuning)

Sightstone and Rubysightstone could retain the passive throughout the game. As far as balancing goes you could use either levels or time to gate the amount of gold that you get. Theoretical idea could be something like lvl 1 gives X gp per 10 seconds while under Y cs and adjusting those as you level or it could adjust after each wave spawns in game.

Positives

  • Increase support gold income while encouraging supports to ward (lower level)
  • Potentially increase jungler gold income and encourage them to ward more as well *Jungler not as important in this option as support
  • Limits the availability of the passive to other roles

Possible negatives

-Promote poor behavior in Junglers, making them not farm just to keep the passive up *Not 100% sure on how that could be counteracted at the moment other than doing the best to make the passive support only, having the cs cap be something along the line of maybe 40cs to help enforce the support option of it and make it so junglers are still not getting it. Curious to see if anyone else in the community has an opinion on how to fix this option -low level games may see non-intended roles using the item *while slightly disruptive it could potentially have the added bonus of other lanes increasing warding -potential to lose passive if having to wave clear *I feel that with proper testing and balancing with a sliding scale for cs numbers wave clearing to save towers/push a lane/any reason to occasionally wave clear could be accounted for

There is also the possibility of combining this with other ideas that I've seen such as removing consumable wards from the game. (Not sure about this idea) In theory it would help define the support and jungle role a little more and give a direction on who is responsible for warding. My only thought on that would be keeping vision wards but limiting the amount of vision wards any one person can carry.

I believe that this idea could positively affect the game provided it got properly tuned (reason why I put no values on anything).

The immediate problem I see with this suggestion is that it becomes Heart of Gold 2.0. Strong ganking junglers would farm / gank just enough to get this item, and then proceed to non-stop gank every lane. Sure, they'd fall behind in level, but that was the reality of Season 2 when Heart of Gold was standard.

Now you've given a jungler a GP10 item that gives health and later builds into sightstone, allowing them to easily give map pressure through awareness in addition to their increased ganking. This won't actually give the jungler more gold, but revert them to the gold-light role they operated in during Season 2.

Removing consumable wards also seems like a crushing change to the game. Mid and top lane no longer being able to ward for themselves leads to many frustrating situations where their friendly jungler has put wards where they don't need to be, or simply can't put enough down. Additionally, you remove all vision from the early game before anyone can buy this item, turning the first few minutes of the game into a boring passive play because everyone is constantly afraid of jungle ganks. It is also a direct buff to supports like Leona, Nami, and Blitzcrank who can easily abused lane brush vision to get kills.

Edit: Fixed some spelling errors.

More gold based on CS?

Get this on everyone before your lane opponent and snowball.

Why not just let junglers and supports have the item. They both have gold problems.
