vision control and supporting in season 4 questions

I was a support main season 3, with jungle being my secondary role... after that adc and then I am learning top and mid now. this is not a complaint thread, just trying to figure stuff out

my problems -not being able to control vision by myself sucks

-not being able to deny enemies vision sucks

-not knowing how to play jungler and support since the new patch sucks

more details -I generally find that I don't affect the game as much as a support now. I am still weaker than anyone else in the game, with almost no kill potential in a 1v1. but NOW I can't affect the game with warding. it feels terrible. even though I can still make plays and get my adc fed. once we get to lategame I see people jumping into bushes and dying in places I would have had warded in S3. I feel so powerless and it sucks.

-with free wards, pink wards becoming basically useless, and the red trinket being on such a long cd, I no longer feel any ways to control vision. before I could buy 1 or 2 pinks, and have vision WHILE getting rid of the enemies. Now if I want to deny enemy vision, I am also denying myself vision cuz they can simply kill my pinks.

-both in support and jungler role, I still don't feel like a carry, but I lost a lot of my power that I had with being able to control the map. As someone who enjoyed the vision game and found it my own way of "outplaying the enemy" I now feel like without an ally around I can't counter anything.

questions -for those supports who have played a lot since the new patch, how do you light the map up? do you ask the jungler to help as well? do you jsut deal with only having 3 wards and cry when you see people running through the jungle blind... I still can't handle going through complete darkness not knowing where I am

-how do you control vision in a lane now... I feel like I can't make opportunities for ganks anymore. there is no way to get rid of wards that doesn't also endanger me... I could grab a pink and have no vision at all and then play passive so they get ganked... but then I am literally forced to let them push to tower to have a safe gank.

-I feel like my identity as support/jungler are gone.... what ways do you play differently and how do you control the game now with the new changes? I know we have more gold... but as someone who always played no dmg supports or tanky supports... I never feel like I can do ANYTHING now without an ally around... before I could just go ward.

Conclusion

Overall the new patch has made it hard to play... and if I can't find out how to control games again and not just feel like another carry who just slows instead of kills.... I really don't know how I will ever enjoy my favorite role again... vision was always power... and it felt like such a different role. with all the changes I no longer feel powerful, and I hope I'm not the only one who is trying to adjust

tl;dr: new vision control is confusing and clunky... any suggestions for how to deal with vision in season 4 or how supports work with the new season would help a lot

now you just have to be a lot smarter with your pick placements. try hiding them is brushes or in corners. there are places around baron and dragon you can pick and i can't be seen unless you enter the pit. also if your playing jungle if you take the red trinket you don't have to kill a ward before you gank. i suggest going into a bot game with a friend. there is certain ways you can go into common ward areas and use the red trinket without ever have been seen by the ward. red trinket disables the wars so you can kill it or go past it unseen for a quick gank.

I absolutely love the new changes. I started LoL mid way through S3 and eventually settled into the support role. Mainly playing Zyra and Taric and a little bit of Swain.

I had the opposite opinion than you though in the support role. I always felt very limited being a "ward bot" as some put it. Now I can not only set up plays for my ADC, but I can help carry. Feels nice when you can go 1v1 against the enemy ADC and make them run as the support. Now "I" feel powerful. I mean, before you were lucky if you got Ruby SS and T2 Boots and a couple of pinks. How can people not like having two or three full items and having a bigger impact in team fights? Team fights is where the game is one no?

It seems like people who think as you do are a little afraid to play aggressive and carry more of the burden, at least that's the way it seems to me. Not taking a jab at you.

You can still ward vital location's. You can also take it upon yourself to try and coordinate where other people need to ward.

From my experience so far it seems like people are expect more from supports now, to carry more of the burden of kill potential...and I love it.
