annie's attack range

WindLord7070··3 votes·379 views

why does a support like annie who wants to be in the enemys faces to use abilities need such a long attack range on autos? but a support like janna who wants to sit in the back with the carry have to have such a short range and needs to sit so close to the front line? id really like some incite on this as i really dont understand the balancing going on here

Balance a support champ with long range abils and long autos means harrass the whole laning phase giving an unfair advantage to the team that has them... Annie has a short range on mainly just her e and ult though her q is a relatively long range... but yeah its just to balance the supports

i still don't really get how its balanced to be honest all the ranged true supports have a much longer range than janna all 550 i believe and most of them have sustain so wouldn't it make more sense for those champs to have the short range since they can heal up? they shouldn't have the poke and sustain if that makes sense

The issue here I'd point out is that I'm pretty sure we can all agree Annie and Janna are NOT currently balanced when compared to one another. Annie is a top competitive pick right now and Janna is hardly picked at all.

Janna isn't trash, as some people claim, but I do feel comfortable saying that Janna is objectively under-tuned and Annie is over-tuned (although she got some more tweaks recently, so I may need to re-evaluate)

The same reason why Ashe doesn't have Talon's passive and Talon have Ashe's passive. Some things when combined together make a champ too powerful.

like being able to poke and sustain? which is exactly what most of the other supports do that seems less balanced than a champ with no sustain not having poke
