I thought there was something in the making to make his melee set have more power with his ranged set being weaker, it's to the point where people get points in his ult last and his kit is just so unbalanced. (Not OP, it's just not balanced in terms of power)
What in the name of Primus makes you think his Melee is not up to snuff? He hits plenty hard enough with great options,

With a kit like that you'd think multiple playstiles would be viable, but nope its pretty much get tear and poke with shock blast every game. I can't for the life of me make a bruiser jayce work.
Not exactly 'related', but have you ever done a custom game as Jayce and build 100% Crit?

Jayce has Nid syndrome and the is unlikely to be buffed. I agree though his melee mode is lackluster.
