Mac Client is Broken

Mac client constantly crashes in game 2-3 times per game, every game. Several threads in our respective section, with zero responses. This is always how it is, give us some active moderators for Mac tech support or just scrap the client if you have no interest in your Mac players. It's disgusting seeing responses in general discussion and bug reports (and reddit...) and never in the Mac Client forums. Fix your Mac tech support team, thanks.

I don't typicaly have any problems with my mac client but this most recent update (4.17) has caused irregular crashings. Most have been on the rift as opposed to aram. I have heard this form other Mac users in game as well. This needs a hot patch as soon as possible, it is impossible to paly ranked when I crash a few times per game. Thanks Rito!

As Riot Afic has stated, we are looking into the issue now. For those of you experiencing crashes, does it only happen in real games (matchmade games) or custom games as well?

10.9.5 macbook bro user here. Obviously, like every mac player i know I am having the bugsplat/ client crash issue as well. i tried to reinstall and now am stuck at 33% trying to download.. :-( LoL is total fail on Mac... :-( Please help us!!

It seems to happen when there is alot of damage being given/taken. It seems to overload the client, and it crashes. Also, whenever I open up the store, it lags.

I've repaired my client a couple times, but I'm not able to load into games anymore. It pulls up a black screen which usually turns into the loading screen (I'm always slower/delayed with loading compared to everyone else), but it never connects. I'm no longer able to play atm because I only get to that point. Even if I force quit it and try to reconnect. The other problem I've had for a long time now, is when I'm going to die, the screen freezes for a second or two. item 3070

Not sure if this will help or not Riot out but when I checked the "Activity Monitor" on Mac and viewed the League Client it said that it was "Not Responding", as well as the "User Kernel". The client seems to run fine but once I get into a game, it freezes often and I have to reboot my computer. I could run a diagnostics to see what the problem is, if that would help?

So many crashes. Macbook pro here. Sometimes you get into the game and start typing. Everything stopped suddenly and game crashed. It happens even frequently when i upgraded the OSX 10 point something. The newest OSX version.

I've been having these problems as well. Random crashes, massive lag spikes, "attempting to reconnect" which never actually reconnects- i always have to leave the game and come back, hoping it will let me reconnect. At this point, I can't even finish patching 4.18 as it is always at 0kbs no matter what I do. Also using OS X

I've been playing for almost 2 years and have never had a problem with crashes. I bought a mac 2 days ago and I have a game crash every 2-3 games....pls fix

Was just in an ARAM game, everytime I pressed Q with blitzcrank I would get a bugsplat Blitzcrank summoner 31

I play League with my 2 brothers all 3 of us going into que together with the mac client. Through the games we have tried all three of us crash on average 2-4 times each game before the 20 minute mark. From what we have seen the game will freeze briefly before it closes altogether followed by either a bugsplat error message or the mac "would you like to report this problem?" message. Intervals of which we crash vary and we do not always crash at the same time as one another. From trying different modes on League we have found that we do not crash in custom Summoners Rift vs bots, custom ARAM 1v1, and ARAM PvP. From that the issue seems to be tied specifically to PvP in Summoners Rift.

I have the same issues as above, but they also occur on the twisted tree line. The problems started for me after patch 4.17 as well but have since stopped except for when my room mate and I are both playing at the same time (whether queued together or not). When my room mate is playing my mac client will invariably crash once a game, but usually no more than that.

The Mac Client has a lot of difficulty as ive seen so far. I mainly play on a macbook pro and every now and then my game will crash and BugSplat will show up and it is very annoying to deal with. I found a solution on line with uninstall then reinstall league which has been working very well right now, I haven't had any bug splats in 3 days and my game runs as it always has.

I'm happy to know that Riot is aware of the issue. I've been playing league of legends for at least 3 years now, and ever since the mac client came out I've experienced bugs. However, I've experienced more issues in the last 3-4 months than ever before. Most of my problems are either 2-3 lag spikes/game or client crashes. What's strange is that sometimes it's perfectly fine. These issues seem to come out of nowhere. The client doesn't crash that often for me, but when it does, it crashes every ~5 minutes after about 15-20 minutes into the game (summoner's rift ranked). Sometimes I get a bug splat error report, sometime I don't. It has cost me games sometimes (I'm trying to be constructive and not rant).

I'm currently running 10.10.2 (Yosemite) 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 (up to 3.6 GHz).

I also get issues when I try to play full resolution 15.4-inch (2880 x 1800) by changing the in game settings. So I have to downscale and play at 1440. Issues range from the mouse not being able to go on certain areas of the screen (like there's an invisible wall), weird camera angles/zooms and sensitivity etc.

I really hope that one day the mac client can be bug free.

didn't read through all of the comments, but I wanted to add a problem that I'm having...

I understand that LoL uses the UI/lobby client, and then a separate game client. However, after playing a game, and then "exiting" out back to the lobby/UI client, the game client still shows a process running (according to Finder and the dock). I'm not sure what is causing the hang up, or this is even normal. But if it's not, what are some common problems for this to happen?

Some help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Now system ban my account already. cause of Mac got crashes. anyone know how to help me? Sorry my english not so good. i can't explain much. but it's not my fail. Game always disconnected every 5 mins after game start. i tried to reconnect. but it's seem like always disconnected.

Fix your client and your technical support for your Mac community! Getting really hard to stay a user when your being punished or bullied in game due to lag spikes or connection problems.

Hey guys, So i just played a match, where i disconnected 3-4 times. My ping usually spikes to 1k< and then sticks at 500. "Attempting to Reconnect" pops up, but it never does reconnect. Have to log out and log back in hoping it wont do it again. Its done this for the past week and only during matches. Its not the internet for sure, tried at multiple places and still does the same thing. It wont even happen to my friends who use windows. Anyone else having this issue?

I am still having these issues in Co-op vs AI. In the last three games, I have crashed at least once in two of them. In my last one it hit "trying to reconnect" three times. I went ahead and hit escape, choose "Quit Game" then hit the "reconnect" when presented with that last chance to not quit. That seemed to work most of the time. Of course, I died a couple of times while going through this process. At least in that last game my teammates understood that it was not me. Amumu

Just to throw it out there, I am still experiencing these issues even after the most recent patch. My issues are more severe though as I cannot load any game past Champion Select. The game just loads to a black screen, as if the game were starting, but never actually loads any form of data. If I Cmd-Opt-Esc to bring up the Force Quit menu, the game crashes itself and tells me to reconnect in the client. I never get a bug splat message anymore and I have already erased and reinstalled the client once in an attempt to fix the problem if it were on my end since it is different from what most of you are experiencing. Thankfully I have a bootcamp partition and can play through that, but I vastly prefer the OSX Interface to Windows and would rather play League on that.

Specs: 2.6 Intel Core i7 8gb 1600 MHz DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M OSX 10.9.4 (13E28)

Attached is the most recent log I have from trying to start a game. It is identical to the other logs I have since this issue has started. It always stops at "Waiting for Client ID"

I'm having mouse/cursor problem, it keeps pointing Top of the screen and can not move anywhere. I'm using a MAC with the new OS X Yosemite 10.10 and its frustrating. i blame this problem to Apple. because Leagues had nothing to do with it. now I'm stuck here without playing waiting for Leagues to create another Fing Update. I HATE MAC!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to add that i've been trying to download LoL on my mac since I deleted it. It's not working everytime I try to open it, I can't even reach the launcher... I don't quite understand because it was perfectly running before ---'

It's ridiculous, they have to get the client out of Beta. I'm done with loosing ranked games because of this. Fix it! Does your summoner go through limbo?

God bless Riot for paying attention to the Mac people. I've been gradually getting more frustrated game after game, and I'd like to contribute what's been happening to me.

I've been playing on the Mac client since it came out. I have the normal Mac problems while in game (ping higher than usual, fps dropping every so often, crashing and such), but it recently got worse after I downloaded the 4.19 patch. I upgraded to OS X Yosemite a couple days ago, and it was working fine de to me not having 4.19. I had one game where my ping sustained 550-600 and my fps 25-30, compared to my usual 80-120 ping and 45-60 fps. This was after upgrading to Yosemite.

After downloading 4.19, I can't play a game without skyrocketing to at least 800 ping (10,900+ being the highest it's been). I've tested it on all the maps, as well as PvP and custom games. They're all the same: I crash 3-5 times; 800+ ping, 20-30 fps. Most of the time, it doesn't even make it to in game. I'm stuck at 100% in the loading screen until I either I forcefully restart my computer, or until recently, used command + option + escape. Hope this sheds some light on everything :c I really wanna play again because of the new season coming up.
