Questions about Jax.

Is anyone at Riot looking into Jax?

I have a question or two.

What is the rationale behind letting a tanky champ be able to attain near assassin level burst while building tanky?

Are any changes going to be made to counterstrike? Such as not allowing Jax to attack while being immune to attacks or making it have a targets affected maximum?

Is there any consideration being made to maybe toning down the mixed damage a bit?

I know that Jax isn't likely to be high on the list of priorities and I readily acknowledge that there are clearly more pressing issues in the game right now, but I would love to hear if there is anything on the horizon

  1. Building BotrK and Triforce isn't building tanky, those are two damage items that should give a character damage. If Jax builds tank based items like a Randuin's, Sunfire, Banshee's he takes a very clear hit in his damage for building those as opposed to a damage centric item.

  2. His burst is based on the premise that he can stay within melee range of his target, without getting CC'd, without getting blown up, and without getting peeled off. Not having appropriate peel or CC against a damage champion that dives isn't a problem with the champion, it's a problem with your team composition or team coordination.

  3. There is no reason that Jax shouldn't be able to continue his standard auto attacks during the length of counterstrike nor is there any basis for having his counterstrike have a limited number of targets effective given it's very low AoE.

  4. The mixed damage is part of what makes Jax viable and removing it or changing it would hurt his already precarious position in upper tier ranked and professional play.

As you mentioned, there are significantly more important things and more pressing issues as far as balance are concerned than Jax. Take into account that Jax remained unchanged through the rise of Renekton, Shyvana, Mundo top lane. He was unchanged through the Trundle usage. Unchanged through the Ryze increase in usage. Jax has clear counters and issues as well as clear strengths, which is why out of all the top laners that have seen usage in the Season 3/Season 4 time periods he's the most overall healthy and balanced.
