-Zed- Is he worth it?

So i spent almost three weeks trying to buy Zed,it was hard work as a noob but i did it,the play style is really fun,he can do high burst damage in just a few seconds and is pretty cool ,i like him. But is he really worth it?Building the runes for him will cost 10455 IP and that is a lot of work. So what should i do? Should i really try harder to get better and hope i can get more kills easier after i get my runes? Should i just give up and sell him to buy an "opper" champion? Im clueles ,Please help!
