QoL Fix to Trinkets

I just noticed that upgrading your Trinket to the 475g 3rd stage puts the trinket on the global timer of 180 seconds... I find this odd... kind of punishes you for upgrading it or makes it seem like you have to back right after sweeping out a ward or something before you upgrade so you don't lose utility...

I understand the global CD thing for switching trinkets, but I don't think it should follow upgrading. It should keep the CD it was previously on or get a 30-60 second CD. In my opinion...

I don't see anything to discuss here... You gave us a very reasonable opinion backed with facts...

bit early to discuss. haven't had a chance to play yet. #bestcoast i didn't like the sound of it when they did it in pbe, i think the upgrading of trinkets should just continue the countdown from whatever. but it works as far as an interesting mechanic. can you upgrade the trinkets right away?

While I did not get the chance to test this out yet, I too believe that the CD should be reset to previous value. A small 30 second cooldown might also be acceptable though.

Getting a summoner spell level of cooldown just for upgrading an item is kind of counter intuitive and punishes the buyer for no reason.

I just played one game as support Ori today then spent time watching the pros deal with the preseason changes. It comes to my mind that the totem is next to useless for a support player compared to sightstone; better to start with the sweeper. Imho, bringing back the oracles and/or merging the last totem upgrade into sightstone or oracles feature items would be better. What are your thoughts on that? Can anyone help me locate the heated discussions from PBE players who dealt with this already?

I find the group most likely to invest in their trinket (supports) are the most likely to have invested in sightstone, and therefore the least likely to be effected by this issue. I cannot say I have noticed it in the grand scheme, as oftentimes the game is over now before the true vision war begins.
