MMR and KDR

Why does Riot's MatchMaking System only look at peoples MMR? Also the LP thing too. There are tons of players in silver and bronze who knows how to win games, but they cant because all those bad players drags them down the sink. It has been 2 weeks now, I only get 3-5LP per ranked win. and lost 5-10 LP every loss. Why does the system only look at how many wins your have over losses, to decide weather your ready for the next tier or not? Why cant you guys look at the persons KDR as well? If a person knows what his doing then he will have a good score, and if you say that person KS everybody else, He cant possibly KS every game of his life now can he? Riot please fix this, please decide weather a player is ready or not by looking at their KDR and MMR together. I think this is Unbalanced.

As mentioned by other people, your score in a match doesn't indicate how good you are, just that you were in the right place at the right time to secure a kill, i've lost track of the times i've done it as support while spamming skills or trying to slow an enemy, KDR isn't a deciding factor and if it ever were then people would just start waiting to get the final blow on a kill instead of just playing the game like its meant to be played :)

I find that a lot of the people that I play with that champion their KDA's don't push objectives, show up late to a fight after most of the damage was done to the other team and secure kills and can't push objectives or a few other things as well. I was once in a game where my team won despite being quadrupled in kills by the other team.

To take a look on a professional level, we saw this recently with Royal Club playing Fnatic. Fnatic had more kills but Royal Club pushed objectives.

You should see some of the people on my friends list. Their KDA is insanely good, but they don't know how to win game or know what they are doing. They just know how not to die, and ks like it's their job. But they lose more games than they win, build wrong items, play champions counterproductive, etc. It's kind of funny to watch, when you are spectating. It's annoying if I do get bored enough to play with them.

But I know what you mean. Like, there should be more to it (which I heard they are still and constantly working on trying to find more fair ways to do the whole entire ranking system) and a lot of people do get stuck losing LP (a lot of it at times) due to other players just feeding the enemy jax or lee sin and then DCing/AFKing just because they went 0/7 or 0/9 in the first 6 minutes and can't take it... Or just simply feeding the enemy fizz because it's their "smurf" and they "simply don't care"

One thing to note is that there is no direct correlation to how good a player is based solely on KDR. Thhis a team game, not Call of Duty. So the playstyles can vary. For example, a tanks job isnt to secure a high KDA. He needs to soak up damage and peel for his carries. Similar case for a support. In addition, there are some champions that are suicidal but make big plays for their team (Karthus/Fiddlesticks). Should they be punished for making plays and having an overall greater impact on the game than someone who focuses on KDA? There are also some champs with above average KDAs because of their safe playstyles. Nidalee and Lux have absurd KDAs because of how safe they are. Are you saying that lux and nidalee players deserve higher mmr because of that? Nice sentiment but KDA has no place in determining MMR. There are ways of improving ranked and getting people to their appropriate MMR faster. Targeting smurfs and elo boosters is the easiest way to start with that. Riot has also been providing more and more information on how to be a better player and rise through the ranks faster.

Your placements matches take into account your KDR when placing you. I am not sure if it keeps affecting your mmr once you are placed though. It is why 2 players won't be placed in the same tier and division even if they win the same amount of games for their 10 placement matches.

They should add some sort of way that allows players to ensure that bad players play with bad players and good players play with good players regardless of what tier you are in. Like, at the end screen, have the option to vote on a player to get a drop in elo Small drop, but after many games, he will truly be where he belongs.
