Should I still get Riven after nerf or get a different champion?

I have been saving up for RivenRiven for about a week now, and she I am still not sure if i should get her now after the nerf. I am looking for a top that is a great duelist, and has a fairly good amount of mobility as well. Riven seems perfect for what I am looking for, however I am still not sure if i should get her now. How hard did the nerfs actually hit? And if she is now not close to what she used to be, what are some other champs i should get?

Thanks!

Note: I already have JaxJax who is also a good duelist with a fairly good amount of mobility (with jump).

I'm not a hardcore Riven player, so take this with a grain of salt.

The nerfs hit her pretty hard, but not so hard that she's no longer viable. Basically, they took some of her early game domination and translated it into better late-game scaling. She can't utterly destroy her laning partner (this was also helped by the changes to minions so that they're more aggressive), but her AD scaling is much better so that she's dishing out even more damage later on. What they really hit was her E (the shield) and the window that it's active, so you have to use it more carefully to really get any use in terms of soaking up damage, but since she scales flat AD now rather than bonus AD, there's a little more wiggle room to build tanky than she had before.

I personally think she's still a nice pick-up for top lane. Fiora is also very mobile, having a double gap-closer and movement speed steroid that grows from auto'ing targets. Someone who plays Riven more often may be able to give a more accurate analysis.

The nerf might have taken some early DMG but she still has a ton I was lvl 3 and was able to half health aatrox after taking his passive off under turret!!! without a scratch because of her shield. Riven is no where near nerfed at this point when I got full build I 1v5 their intire team and killed all of them for an unofficial penta without using GA. So in my opinion with the right build and playstyle riven is still very op but if your looking for a high mobility jump duelist try pantheon he is very op also and I have a secret build and playstyle I can share but add me if you want that info :D

I agree with Kero Legend about Riven: she is still very strong, you only have to be a little more careful with the shield than before.

However I disagree on what he said about Fiora. Fiora has somewhat decent chasing potential with her double gap closer and MS steroid (if she can stay in autoattack range), but she has absolutely NO excape mechanics and this can hurt her very much. If you are looking for a very mobile character she is probably not fit for the role.

A very good top with decent mobility that I can suggest you to try is volibear: he deal deceptively high damage even building full tank, he has a good MS steroid that comes with a built-in enemy-toss and he also has an aoe slow.

She did get nerfed in the gut, but over all still has very good potential top lane I couldn't even tell the nerfs on her from all the kills she still can get . Yes get her, she's one of the overall funnest champs to play

A minor set back to the early game carnage, and now with 4.2 augmenting her base health for the increased sheild, ive yet to see how she plays. With that being said, her mid/late game is still amazing, she's can snowball by leaving lane to harass, takedown, etc. I would recommend her, her kit is still OP as ever, just a harder early game.
