There really should be an ad item that gives you magic pen there are quite a few champions that could use this and with new nidalee only doing magic damage other than from autos the enemy can just stack mr and you cant build anything to do anything about it. Its pretty lame and if riot plans on changing all hybrid damage champions to be like the new nidalee even more champions are going to need this item.
Completely counterintuitive? You are doing hybrid damage already, meaning it's hard to stack resistances, there is no need to also give you great earlygame by getting flat penetration. If you want percentage penetration, go void staff, if you deal magic damage you will have some ap scalings.

There will never be an AD item with magic pen just so you know. Doesn't make sense thematically, and it would probably be pretty terrible. Hybrid items have a history of getting abused, then getting nerfed into the ground. (See: Guinsoo, Gunblade)
