Say if you got an Odyssey Gem from this event, what bag would be the best choice to get?

Here's what you can get again as a refresher -

Used to craft one of the following:

  • Revel Bag: five skin shards, one from every skin tier up to (and including) Legendary
  • VS Faction Bag: five skin shards for champions from the same faction
  • Crab Bag: six skin shards, one from each role (assassin, fighter, mage, marksman, support, and tank)
  • Champion Bag: complete set of non-mythic, non-limited skin shards for a random champion
  • Birdie Bag: complete set of skin shards for a random skin line

Each has their own risk, some much more than others

For example if you chose the Birdie Bag, you could get lucky and get a skin line with a ton of skins like the Blood Moon set which has 13 skins or Snowdown Showdown which has a whopping 19 skins, or something with not many like Cottontail and Order of the Lotus which both has only 2 skins each (or even Kaiju which is just Giant Enemy Crabgot)

Meanwhile if you chose the Revel or VS Faction Bags, you're guaranteed 5 skin shards of varying price tiers (and the Crab Bag gives 6)

So there's the question...

What would be the best choice to obtain using an Odyssey Gem?

Revel is the safets bet as it will just give you 5 skins from worst to best and a garantee of a 1820. The birdie bag has the most potential tho because you can hit a really big skin line like blood moon but a really bad one like worldbreaker (5 skin - 750 each). The vs has good potential too and a bigger chance to get a skin for a champ you like because the states are not so much and you get a skin for every champion in that state (say demacia for ex). This one is a safer bet if you want more skins because there are few states with a small number of champions. Maybe the worst you can get is trgon. The crab bag gives 6 skin and pray god to get something good as it is one skin per role. Not too good of a chance to get a skin for a champ you want. The champ bag - stay away from it. The chance is 1/144 to get the skins for your main and the others are over all better.

In conclusion: Revel if you want a safe bet Birdie if you are ready for the big gamble but have the biggest potential for most skins. Vs if you want a decent number of skins over all Crab and champion if you don't care anymore

Edit: I just saw that vs gives only 5 so nvm about that part.

The way I see it is:

get revel if you own skin shards (that you definitely want to craft) and you want essence. It's consistent

Get birdie bag if you don't care about any of the skins shards you own, since even if you low roll, the value doesn't really matter anyways.

Revel is the safest bet: guarantees 5 skin shards, at least one of which is a legendary and one of which is a 1350. That guarantees 2 decent-good quality skin shards (or at least essence).

Birdie is the riskiest/highest potential reward option though. Birdie can give anything from 2-10+ skins which is a massive gamble but has the highest reward.

VS/Crab are both memes. VS is a straight up worse Revel, and Crab is a Revel that gives 1 more skin shard, in return for no guaranteed good skin shards and all the skins are for a different role. Champion is another massive gamble like Birdie, except with Champion you almost always lose.
