What makes Blitzcrank's grab better than stuns?

I see not much great about it. It is usually maxed first but lategame teamfights grab is already kinda impossible to land to squishies.

Then grab doesnt help escape as it is basically a gapcloser if you are running away. If Yi or Phase rush user appear his grab basically turns into a death spell for him.

So sure you get pulled into Blitzcrank in early to mid game... but is that really anything special?

People refer his grab as best cc in game, but why? What squishy will allow grab to land against them during teamfights? Even if it does land Blitzcrank is probably on your face at that point and enemy grabbed makes it harder to land to run away as you are on top of him.

People may argue Ahri E, but what makes Ahri so deadly is her follow up with lots of true damage and burst, one shotting any squishy. Enemy cannot survive even with QSS ahri charm while Blitz grab can be qssed then flashed out and Blitz provides no other form of utility except his very weak damage.

But Grab becoming a stun will affect his lore? Since when did riot care about lore when they added self movement speed slowing to his W? Offering no damage, worse utility, and worse survivability for early game.

Tldr: What makes grab the best cc in game when it is basically a suicide cc against yi or any phase rush users? When it actually hurts his kiting so much as the enemy is able to get instantly on top of you? With stun you can run away more and land more skill shots easily, so how is grab a good spell in anyway? If anything it is a worse version of a stun.
