Can you create more hard MR items?

Out of all the item categories in the game, MR is pretty lacking. It hasn't received a whole lot of items and on top of that most items are designed with a few characters/roles in mind. This item 3140 ideally would like an item that builds from this since it ONLY builds item 3139 . Possibly make it build with item 3105 to give more MR+armor so it also has more build paths. Another great potential build would be item 3070 , since there are characters like singed in the game and his damage doesn't NEED to be high. Perhaps it could be build with item 3145 to give some kind of shield similar to the storing function of item 3174 but make it an active effect that works like Morgana 's shield or perhaps just some kinda spell vamp/life steal function while remaining tanky. The purpose of this post isn't to say "hey buff tanks!" but rather "hey it's not possible to deal with 4 mage types late game no matter how much MR you build, especially when they are assassins."

It'd also be great to have an item that would work equivalently of thornmail. As is in the game it doesn't matter how much AP you build, if you're up against a team that builds AP in their kit they have the benefit of CC and high damage. On top of that you don't have access to anything that's really going to buff your damage, especially if you scale off of AD. As least with AD most ADC's are lacking in hard CC's and usually have some kind of snare/slow.

Apparently this is becoming more of a problem than I originally thought it was. It seems that mages are going unchecked and are even branching out to fulfill other roles than may have been originally desired. Now it'd be fine if it was just a OTP but this has been a thing for a while, a prime example would be Morgana or Annie support. More recently though I've come across this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1hDjvJQptA . I also found out you can top lane soraka and she also crushes the % percentage for that lane. Little by little this game is becoming more League of Mages opposed to any other role.
