now this may be a stupid question and you mat either say "it obviously league" or the exact opposite. but from what i've seen (a dota 2 baised view) is that dota 2 is better in general. from what i see dota 2 is more balanced (91% of heroes were picked at ti7 compared to 51 from 2016 worlds) game and has much better graphics and lore. i have also seen that their heroes are free and have more diversity. however the main reason why i think dota CAN make their champs free is because they dont need to make much profit from their game, because of how big valve is. the main reason why i played league in the first place is because my computer is shit

but now that i am switching computers i am now debating "League or DOTA" now i was in a post game lobby and the things that people complained about was the fact that dota 2 was really, REALLY toxic. my main problem with dota is hat fact that it is so complicated and that it requires more time to learn, time that i dont have because i have school. however, DOTA 2 seems to be the better game because of better because of how much better the graphics are and how good the gameplay is (also no need for farming champs :D).

on a final note though, i think im gonna stick with league because it is much simpler and much more relaxing to play. i dont want the stress of hitting, denying, etc. i think if you have the time and want to be more serious, then play DOTA. but if you want to play casially, play league. what do you guys think? hope you all have a great day! [slayer-jinx-wink] (btw league has more waifus, so, that's a bonus)

They both have things they are lacking in and things they do far better than the other.

If you have to start from 0 i would suggest DOTA 2 ... simply put the only idea of having to unlock again all the champ via IP just scare me.

Dota it's harder and punish very hard ppl for a bad move also, unlike lol, it works on Hard counter and have a bigger learning curve

Completely up to preference. I hate the playstyle of everything in DOTA. I hate the balance of this game.

Im played both of them..and I’m 19 years old..but Newbee for dota2 I loves dota2...I finally got 5k mmr after 2 year for dota2 ..Now I have a time to play so I wanna play dota2 for serious like a pro..But I’m in sea server in dota2 .SEA server is a nightmare ..so toxic...and they didn’t even understand actually toxic communities are killing This game...So now I always mute them all..and when I tilted for losing..i play lol ..So easy and fun.and no toxic players...actually this game helping me to out tilt..I love them both..but dota2 is hard and if u wanna play for fun in dota2 don’t dont don’t play in SEA and JAPAN server..They will kill you by chat and feedin or r%%%%%s

i don't like dota 2's turntimers but they are a necessary evil. otherwise you end up with league of legends melee design where every good melee needs to have multiple forms of gap closer/mobility in order to compete. creating an arms race of mobility. i imagine things like lissandra, teemo, jayce, quinn top etc would never work as well if we had turn timers but at the same time they'd make this game so clunky and hard to control. its scary but then you remember dota 2 has things like faceless void. and then you remember they also have drow ranger who is basically ashe on steroids.

i think dota 2 could BEAT league but they aren't interested in obtaining leagues audience. and i applaud them for that.

While League and Dota are both mobas they appeal to very different audiences. So neither can be stated as being objectively better.

I'm going to be using Extra Credits' Depth vs Complexity argument here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVL4st0blGU

League is a very basic game. Things are pretty straight forward. While it's not the most deep game it certainly isn't complex. It isn't until you look at a few specific examples like Jhin's passive that complexity starts to show its head. First you learn champs and items. Then runes and masterys. Congratulations you're done.

Dota is a very complex game. But not that much deeper than League. It has a much higher learning curve with lots and lots of information to withhold to actual start playing the game beyond a newbie level. Creep stacking, denying, runes, and how the stats work is just the beginning. Then you have disjointing, talents, aghs upgrades. Then you get to learn all the different ability interactions. Synergy and anti synergy. Every single effect magic immunity does and does not effect. This list goes on.

This doesn't make Dota 2 a bad game but it certainly turns people away.
