Thoughts on Evelyn Support?

My love for Evelyn was revived significantly after seeing her rework on the horizon, so I decided to play her as a support for a couple games in Normals. Granted, I don't play many normal games, so my MMR is probably low Silver in it, to take it with a grain of salt. I actually feel like she makes a pretty strong kill-lane support.

She has great damage, decent mobility and with her being permanently invisible from level 1 still, she creates this lane dynamic where the enemy is always kind of afraid to engage because they have no idea where the support is and when she'll come out and blow someone up.

I even backed a few times and the enemy was still playing really passively because they had no idea I'd even backed. They were almost forced to play the lane as if they were being hard camped for 10 minutes. Maybe this is just because they're Silver and not very good players, I'm not either, and Eve is enough of an odd pick in lane that nobody at that elo really knows how to deal with her? I know I wouldn't. I figure her best counter is someone like Tahm, Braum, or Leona who's super tanky and has a ton of peel.

Has anyone else tried it out? Does the new Evelyn look like she'll be able to play a similar role in lane and not be relegated as a pure jungler?
