Burst Meta Ruins the Point of League
So much free unnecessary damage makes League seem like a shadow of itself. hard to believe anyone is proud of what league has become.

But if people live for more than 2 seconds it'll be a big scary tank meta!!!!
You know, that thing we haven't had in years, way worse than the burst meta we had for years

i feel that riot have destroy any "turtle" strategy in the game, damage is always stronger and missing objectives makes damage even stronger, maybe if turrets were alot harder to dive? i have seen supports that either have high damage or can engage are the most effective, even when we have sustain and peel supports they just cant keep up
Burst meta can also known as an Assassin meta, because EVERYONE is a fucking assassin.

The worst thing is that they aren't fixing anything year after year: they failed in S8 (after being warned), then in S9, and now with S10.
It's intentional, people say because of the "asian market". Meanwhile, they compromise the western one.
Damage oriented meta started at around the juggernaut update, dont know exactly when that was , I think around mid season 5.
Everything after that is just been the game constantly changing towards burst and faster gameplay.
I think sometime in the future riot should just change all abilities, auto attacks and sum spells to deal 100% max HP true damage and just be done with it
Isn't the point of league be to win through being better player than your opponent, if so, LoL is in better spot than when tanks could just autowin lanes and adcs were the center of universe in S6-7, every mistake, misstep, bad recall, everything matters nowadays. The ranked experience tho(changes made in S9), thats what is destroying the league.
u would have survived a very fair amount of damage being dealt to u, but then the ludens proc+scorch+liandry+comet do another 300hp of damafge
When you get burst killed in a blink of an eye by champions like
and others that not even
can save you, you know there is something wrong with the current state of league right now.
Burst meta also eliminates the existence of many champions:

What's the point of playing champs that take time to do anything when you die faster than the speed of light?
The burst meta was born out of the incapability of addressing the tank meta appropriately. Tank meta being the time when
Ekko and
Fizz were wrecking face as well as when certain item combinations like with
were extremely effective on champs like
Viktor. It's just another case of overnerf. This trend continues due to the heinous stigma that the tank meta caused, supported by the guise that Riot wants to make games shorter.
Yorick and
Suicide Sion, it had no effect on the state of champion interaction at all. This lacking champion interaction is perhaps the reason why the dragon changes and alcoves were added.Perhaps the greatest struggle in regards to fixing this mess is dealing with segregation. There are three expectations that aren't fulfilled sufficiently.
These expectations are broken too often. Many times champions are designed to break these expectations. It's simply too difficult to maintain these expectations, even theoretically.
So far, Riot has been able to tackle a couple of these expectations at a time. Rarely have all of these expectations been satisfied by the simple fact that players will naturally try to break these expectations themselves to gain an edge. There are quite a few examples when they have attempted these measures, whether successful or not.
Last Whisper's bonus armor penetration rather than total armor penetration. A vast amount of bonus armor penetration could be penetrated, but it wouldn't pierce the base armor of an enemy.
Evelynn's AP ratio health shredding nerfs. Once, she was able to instagib 4k health tanks like
Cho'Gath and
Dr. Mundo. However, due to her equal capability of killing squishies by nature of high AP, it was nerfed since it was pretty ridiculous.
Gargoyle Stoneplate's existence is a testament to their desire to have tanks be tanky without dealing damage. While there was mishaps with
Cho'Gath, the nature of drastically increasing tankiness while lowering damage output aligns with the expectation that tanks shouldn't deal high damage perfectly. While this could be easily fixed with direct intervention, I have a feeling that Riot doesn't want to get rid of such freedom. As much as we hate ridiculous shit screwing over our games, random stuff like AP
Master Yi and Tank
Ekko has become iconic memeories that make the game interesting. It shows that thinking outside the box can lead to victory. It only gets patched out once "thinking outside the box" becomes a box itself.
However, despite concerns of direct intervention to conform to these expectations, I believe that direct intervention should be performed anyways. That's because it doesn't matter what kind of hardcore rigid standards are put in place, people will find a way to make it a meme. If AP
Draven is possible, anything is possible.
So these are a couple ideas that would help the game align with the three expectations:
The Black Cleaver build from
Last Whisper. Seriously, why the heck does a % armor shredding item not build off of
Last Whisper? It's ridiculous. In a gameplay perspective, it forces people who use the item to build something that would only be useful for defeating tanks specifically.
