And it's funny because the game began to be extremely popular in seasons where Dmg was reduced and the games were a bit longer/slower than now and at the same time there was still something like "solo carry". Riot does not give (or at least I have not found) any information about the influx of new players and the current popularity of the game.But by checking google trends (League of Legends) you can see that the game is losing popularity despite the influx of "players" from China.
It's not the damage. Itemization sucks so bad, so everyone building damage instead.
Another reason is vayne and fiora. They force all tank users to build damage.

Maybe you don't remember how the game started. League always had tons of damage with perhaps the one tank meta. Moreover league was a Dota clone (wc3 mod) That game also had crazy snowballing, much like Dota 2 has now
If you want a slow moba play heroes of the storm. That game is high health , low DMG by comparison to other MOBAs.
League was never slow, have a look back at beta or season 1 games on YouTube.
Its funny you could play top and solo take inhib and 3 turrets and still lose because your team will get bursted and cant defend

Before when Dragon only gave gold, laners only had two ways of getting gold:
Farming or Killing.
But the cost of failing a kill, possibly dying, and losing farm was a big enough deterrent to make most people think twice.
Then Permanent Dragon Buffs & Rift Herald & Turret Plates were added as additional bonuses/sources of income
This led to a need for more early game damage to obtain said objectives, so early game champions were picked more
So now instead of staying in their lanes, roams & jungle fights happen a lot more frequently...
Which leads to more deaths early
And therefore means the early snowballs are not only more frequent, but pretty much mandatory as well.
Over the years since I've started playing...
Its become blatantly obvious that Riot, when faced with a severe problem, will never actually sit down and think about the root causes for why something is an issue or how something is broken.
Consequently this means Riot will always attack the wrong people or mechanics when they "attempt" to fix anything.
One recent example is how they (Once again) "attempted" to decrease the dictation of the game via the jungle by changing the experience junglers gain from various camps.
Now that the junglers are behind level-wise, everything should be fixed right?
No.
Not really.
Permanent Buffs & Rift Heralds leading into Turret Plating gold still means that control of the jungle STILL DICTATES THE GAME.
TL;DR Riot is stupid. End of Story.
they gotta cater to the chinese market. mostly they don't own pcs and would just go to cafes to play league

At first i thought it was a post from 2017. But you're right, nothing has changed since then.. or if it has, it got worse.
This means, this company doesn't care.
My personal favorite is their design feature lately. It's a simple check.
Assassin? Make it's animations and aa instantanously and basically cost nothing movement wise. oh and no cooldowns really

I wouldn't be surprised if people started realizing runes reforged are more than half of the damage issue and were a massive slap in the face to League players. I've been saying this for 2 years now I think, and even when I picked up the boards and started saying it non-stop, people still doubted and called me a dumbass.

Just pound the enemy with so much CC that they can't move. Easy.
I seen a 3500 hp Garen get dropped by Fiora within 8 seconds, and Garen was the one with better items. Whats the point of a tank anymore lmao.
Every Season has had different issues. i can only speak on the seasons i have played. Season 3? the assassin meta with DFG. Season 4? more of the same until DFG got removed. Then came Kalista... Season 5 had the kalista meta and juggernaut meta. Do you know what people were complaining about then? There wasn't enough dmg to get through the tanks. Season 6? The vision meta where games would go until 40-50 min because everyone would ward and power farm until 1 team fight at baron decided the game. Season 7? The ardent meta. Season 8? Runes and full power Akali and Irelia fresh off of reworks. Not to mention the Crit changes which made ADC unplayable.
It's by design. As a teemo player, they've been pigeonholing teemo into being bursty by removing all of his more damage over time focused builds like on hit and Frozen mallet tankmo that just slowly - or in on hit's case, quickly - whittled you down. They nerfed those to the point of unviability and now you get critmo, which is oneshotting with an auto q auto, and full ap which oneshots with auto q auto and half healths you with a mushroom late.
I used to play shredder thresh top. You'd get bork, cleaver and wits. They removed that by changing wits. Now it's easier to just go full ad "whip" thresh with predator or dh and run really fast at people and kill them in 1 auto.
Sett is a bursty champ. Aphelios is bursty. Quiyana is bursty. Who else has been released in the past year that does a bunch of damage really quick? Reworked morde and panth. Panth became worse, although now you can outplay his poke a little. Look at malph. It sucks building tank on him because there is so much resistance reduction, %health damage, and true damage in the game that he might as well just go full ap and oneshot the adc and support if they stand too close together.
Next patch Rito be like, we heard you; so we're nerfing ignite by 5.
