Ranked negative splashing

So I've heard that losing a game and having negative splashing (ranked points lost in other roles) CAN cause you to move down divisions. Does this apply to tiers too?

Like if I was Gold 4 and 0 LP for ADC, would I get demoted to Silver 1 ADC if I lost games as OTHER roles?
