This is probably a really dumb idea, but what if during his E, Garen grounded himself?

He can still move about and whatnot, but while in his E animation he's not effected by pulls, knockbacks or knockups (basically any displacement CC)

Meanwhile at the same time he can't flash or use any sort of means to dash (ex. protobelt)

What would happen?

######This was a sleep depraved idea I had at like 5am yesterday, so yeah, it's not gonna be the most thought out thing ever

Grounded is one-way, it simply disables the affected from using dashes, blinks and teleports.

Although given that Warwick is immune to displacement during his latched Q, it's not far fetched to see this happen for any character.

The only way I could see this not being broken like Yasuo's Windwall is if Garen loses all movement speed bonuses during the channel.

as long as they fix his e stacking in URF

idk, sacrificing the protobelt judgement combo seems like too harsh a nerf

You'd want them to shut down another of his niche items after what happened with abyssal?

If Grounded could be used defensively like that I would think it is cool enough to be a decent idea. Sadly that's not how it's coded, Blitz can still pull someone out of a Grounded effect.

Would I be against Garen's E being used as a testing ground for an effect that defends against CC types that ignore tenacity? I'd be cautiously open to the idea. It would have to come at the expense of something else in his power budget, and I'd gladly put the Villain passive on that chopping block.

i would rather add displacement immunity to the 0.75 seconds on his w. but that would be more of a direct buff.

maybe some time in the future, in case he drops off again. right now hes doing comparably well in solo que.

Because his kit isn't overloaded enough...
