How do you gain your confidence back?

I'm a Riven onetrick that has been hardstuck gold 4 for the past 3 seasons. Pretty much for my own fault in the way I just get worse over the coarse of a season (probably due to me taking breaks to play other games). It eventually gets to the point that I cant win lane, can't carry games like I could at the start of the season, then as I play Riv then people flame me as I have 1.2mil mastery, overall making it not fun to play the game. I know everyone struggles from losing streaks and the real question is how do you recover from it?

Some solutions I've tried: In the past I basically just coasted the remaining part of the season and then spend preseason fixing my mmr and getting more practice in, but I want to push for higher rank as being hardstuck gold kinda feelsbadman.

I have also tried playing other champs but then I get bored of those champs and come back to Riven only to be more out of practice

Then just taking a break from the game is what gets me into this mess.

TL;DR I'm a Riven onetrick who is on a massive loss streak/loss of confidence and looking for a good way to overcome it and try to finally climb out of gold.

Thank you, -XeriiK

Sounds like you really just aren't into the game anymore, and that's alright. If you get bored too easily to continue practicing, then it's time to retire from League

If you one trick riven and you are hard stuck gold for 3 seasons, you're pretty bad. But take this with a grain of salt, I don't consider Riven on the "insanely" difficult champ to master, for example nidelee or lee sin. so after getting in about 200 games you probably have a good understanding of mechanics and what the champion can do and not do (I hope). I would like to assume you watch vods on riven from the higher elo players like adrian or box box or whatever degenerate likes to play the champ but if that still hasn't helped you then it's probably how you play the game and how it works, whats important and what shhould be prioritized over others. Your cs is pretty bad even when you're ahead so that obviously needs to be improved but I would focus on stuff like wave manipulation, map awareness, vision score, match ups, etc. that type of thing. There is nothing wrong with being a shit player, but there is a problem with staying shit, if you care about this game enough to invest time into doing stuff like watching your replays to see what you did wrong or could have done better or reading into matchups and the cd restraints on champion abilities (I know boxbox does) then this might not be the game for you. Prove to yourself that this is your game, that this game deserves your effort because if it doesn't, don't waste your time here. Good luck on making you decision.

P.S. every challenger Riven main has never struggled to uphold their rank over the seasons. Just food for thought

Hi!

Ranked has become harder. Players improve over time, even if they still make questionable mistakes. I.E, d4 season 9 is as good as D1 Season 5 now micro wise. Crazy, right? But, the key to realize is that even if these players know the micro they still make mistakes (too much mana use, waste a cooldown, poor teleport timing or flash usage). Add me, I'm a Master tier team player and I'd be happy to help you see their mistakes

well first of all, riven is one of those champions that can and should change their build and runes depending on the enemy

watch some Adrian Riven videos and streams

also, /mute all at the start of the game, OR go into options -> interface -> scroll down to "chat" -> untick "Show [All] Chat (Matched Game" and "Show [Allied] Chat." chat serves no purpose that pings and paying attention do not. don't want to get flamed? don't subject yourself to the flame.
