Let's talk about + and - for a moment.

So many people, and i mean SO many, have been here on boards complaining. Yasuo is op, lucian is op, vayne is op, ranked is stupid, I've been punished unfairly, thr game sucks now, ARURF sucks, bring back URF, etc. I could go on for so long at how many negative things are being talked about. So why don't we focus on the positives for once?

With seeing all these negative comments, it suprises me a little. Me and my duo have been having a blast in ranked. We've got over an 80% winrate together and my Talon top specifically is 100% winrate. We've had easy games, fun games, and even tough games. But we haven't complained on boards. Our team fed? So what we'll carry them anyway, prove we deserve better. Teams raging pre game? We'll dodge and start another que to avoid them.

Getting matched with low ranked players? Well, my duo is iron 1 and I'm silver 2, and we're doing fine anyway! It all doesn't matter. The only reason the game is "so bad" is because you pretend it is. We try to put the blame wherever we can beside ourselves and it isn't right.

Many people who complain about bans are a good example. We say "this wasn't toxic" and while it might not be very bad, it was still putting the blame elsewhere. saying they were defending themselves, or someone else, or saying that the other person should've been banned and not them.

The game is in a pretty good state right now, i haven't seen many negatives about it while playing. The op or too underpowered champions right now such as akali? Every game goes through that. If you quit league because of it you'll find the same issue elsewhere.

I'm not saying we should stop having any negativity at all, giving input on what needs changed and community opinions matters. But we shouldn't be so negative about it. If you have to say something is overpowered, then why not just write out a whole argument, video footage, or stat numbers to show it? Then it can be debated. Instead of swearing, saying it is op and should be nerfed.

To conclude, it's all fairly obvious really. The game isn't what's failing. The community is, and if we just start being positive we can fix that. People will be negative in game. Always. That's how competitive games are, but that doesn't mean we have to tear apart the game out of anger. So i wish you all luck on the rift summoners. And here's to a hopeful season 9![slayer-jinx-catface]

Obligatory no u comment.

While yes, the boards community is laughable when it comes to the gameplay section to the point where coaches tell players to steer far far away from them, the community does have reasons to be frustrated more often then satisfied.

The biggest issue is the lack of satisfaction riot has been giving to the player experience, and thats something the boards aren't necessarily wrong on. If you win; its probably a stomp or an enduring experience you felt ill playing through, nothing about it is satisfying because it either feels so free or feels so god awul to sit through just to cheese a late game win. When you're losing, well you can imagine. Its why even if something like yas isn't broken, people will complain about it because it is utter cancer to sit through if that player isn't dogshit at the champ, it just feels like a waste of time.. frustration for a free win? Cheesey because you really struggled to do anything back and didn't feel outplayed with the loss?

Skill in the game has declined as a lot more cheese based playstyles have erupted (namely level 2 ganks becoming a standard, everybody cried about level 3s so riot hurt junglers to the point level 2 is the way to climb without your lanes losing and all your camps stolen, which we all can agree just feels worse for both laners and junglers.). It never feels like you're getting outplayed/outplaying you opponent as much as it feels like your opponent is just trash, outdrafted you, or lucky. Back in old seasons, it felt like the better team wins, now it feels like its a matter of who's worse enough to lose.

Riot seems to just get worse and worse as a company. We're really noticing riot's struggle to keep this game alive but instead they're making a 180 and making it worse trying. Namely, the hextech system went to shit, ranked went to shit and lost more players, reworks that promised healthier long term gameplay and riot's promise of delivering fun but balancable champions instead resulted in abominations that have everybody's head scratching on what new type of drug they invented there.

If the experience is great for you due to success, I mean good for you but talking about positives when atm its really hard to think of positives when everything seems negative or every positive has a negative tied to it (fucking positional ranked in a shellnut) just is rough.

I actually can't think of a positive off the top of my head recently. Tower plates?

Have you considered that being lower ranked is why everything seems easier. Nobody knows how to push a lead or close out a game, a feeding team is a lot easier to carry when that's the case imo. When you start climbing more it should feel harder, just saying. My duo and I blasted through gold and low plat and games have gotten a lot harder at high plat/diamond level. It's a lot less easy to just shrug off your top going 0/6 in lane and having to deal with a fed Yorick when that Yorick knows EXACTLY how to play and pressure with the lead he has.

I'll not reply to you all anymore as this has become "no the game is negative you're just low rank or this or that." And i don't want the negativity building up more. So I'm not going to argue, though feel free to keep commenting. I would say the system isn't actually as bad as you say, but you'd all just keep bein negative about this. So, subject change, instead of saying this or that is bad, what is something you enjoy about the game? A favorite mode? Item? Champion? Art? Cinematic? Whatever it is, feel free to comment about it, just don't be so negative all the time! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I definitely understand what you're saying and where you're coming from. That said, I think you should consider that the boards aren't a good reflection of how the actual playerbase feels.

Most people who post on the boards seem to be complaining. Why is that? It's because the players that are happy don't feel the need to even come to the boards. I play with four IRL friends, and none of them frequent the boards. Only one has ever even been to the boards.

Also, everyone has something different that bothers them about the game. Someone might come to the boards to complain about Yasuo but be fine with everything else.

You might feel like you see a lot of people in game complaining, but I guarantee those few just stand out. I'm in bronze 1, and most of the players I play with either don't chat or don't talk directly about game balance or whatever.

Basically, don't let a few negative comments or people fool you into thinking everyone is like this.
