It was later replaced with item 2055 . Some people will refer to Control Wards as Pink Wards out of habit.

Pink ward was replaced by the Control ward, back then the Pink ward would allow you to see stealth targets like Akali/Eve, but did not disable the stealth wards vision, they replaced Pink wards with control wards which do all the same except it now only reveals camouflage targets and it disables the stealth wards, people still call them pink wards because people are used to the term.

The regular wards were renamed to stealth wards with the vision update some years back. Pinks are called Control Wards.

Pink wards don't exist anymore. They used to be invisible wards that revealed stealthed units around them. They are now replaced by control wards which are sometimes still called pink wards.
