Is Sett a sign of bad times ahead?

I just had a thought, brought on by this thread. Sett has percentage of maximum health damage in his Q and R, and true damage in his W. All the items that allowed assassins and carries to blow tanks up were bad enough, but now we have a champ that's made to stomp them into the dirt and actively discourage building tanky (his R does a great job of this). Are tanks being pushed out of the meta altogether? Are we going to start seeing full damage Allistar and Shen a few months from now? When I came back to LoL a few months ago, I was surprised to see full AP Malphite, and now this.

Have you looked at any Juggernaut in the past? Or current? They all have forms of anti-tank, because an immobile melee only champion kind of needs a way to beat up other melees.

In case you don't know, here's a list.

Aatrox %max hp damage on passive, obscene sweet spot damage on things he can hit. Darius Significant %armor penetration, bonus AD if he fights targets he gets full stacks on, giant true damage ult increased on targets he has more stacks on. Garen Armor shred on E, %missing hp true damage execute. Illaoi %max hp on W, pseudo %current health damage on E Mordekaiser %magic penetration, %max hp on passive, ult steals 10% of enemy stats Nasus Massive AoE %armor reduction, %max hp damage Urgot %max hp on autos, %max hp true damage execute Yorick %max hp on autos, %current hp on throw

These are only things everyone can 100% agree on being Juggernauts. A defining feature of the class is destroying enemy champs that enter melee range of them, and all of them have some form of anti tank power. Sett isn't some "new direction"; he's a bog standard Juggernaut.

Firstly, I never said he was a new direction. My intent was to imply greater acceleration down a path Riot has been treading for a while now. Secondly, I think Sett is on a different level from the champs you listed.

There is a reason why most bruisers have some sort of %damage/true damage/free pen/mixed damage and some sustain. They are supposed to fight tanks, and have a chance to win doing so, while not being ridiculously op against non-tanks. Aatrox -%damage Chogath -%damage and some true Darius -true damage and %pen DrMundo -%damage, mix of magical and physical Galio -%damage, not really a bruiser tho Garen -true damage, %armor shred Illaoi -E can be called "%damage", but she works a bit different, by having a dodgeable damage that is hard to dodge if you are a tank Mordekaiser -free pen, iirc his passive has %damage too ...

I don't think his damage is an issue at current, I have more qualms with that GIGANTIC FUCKING SHIELD he gets when you're trying to kill him.
