Caught a cold on tuesday and can legitimately pinpoint patient zero. a customer at work who basically coughed directly in my face...worst part is that it was an older gentleman...i expect that shit from kids but c'mon a 65 year old should have some etiquette

Well it depends on their upbringing, experience, and things like that. Age won't suddenly make people's manner better (if anything, it's probably the opposite which leads to...).
Also, some people's manner drop off a cliff after getting old too, given some arrogance, stubbornness, and the good o' "I don't really care anymore" also potentially come with old age, so it may have something to do with that, too. But who knows.
EDIT: Also, as mentioned later, the person may also have mobility issues.
Or people who sneeze into their bare hands and then rubs it onto their clothes. Maybe shake people's hands shortly after
