Im Quitting League (At Least For Now)

There are four reason (three main and one small) that I am doing this: 1.The meta is terrible and I don't see it changing for a while: Everyone is saying its a damage meta. I see it as a stomp meta. One team stomps the other. Stomps on either side isn't fun to me, as I prefer games to be able to have a come back. I also prefer not to be stuck in a game that I have a 1% chance of winning because the other team has 20 more kills than us and 5 more towers and two people don't want to surrender. I dont see it changing because of the second reason which is...

2.Riot is doing a terrible job at listening to the community and balancing: How long has everyone been complaining on the boards about this. How many times has riot not listened or does the complete. A lot of people (like me) are quitting and saying they hate the game. The boards are filled with complaints. They are almost all about how they hate season 8 or this meta. Riot fails to listen to people. They also keep make unspeakable, unbalanced changes.

3.The community is at peak toxicity and the report system is flawed: Because of all of these terrible changes, a lot of the community, as I said, hates this game and the game. While the community has always been toxic, it is more now than I have ever seen right now. I have had multiple inters, afkers, trolling, and most of all, flaming from the community. I end up having to mute at least one person every game. With all of this, none of my reports on any of these players have actually went through. They have all gotten away with it without getting any punishment. And honestly, I can't blame them. If you are in a game you don't like waiting for it to get better changes, I can understand people not liking the game. However I'm done wait for better changes.

4.My connection is unpredictable and the game is unfriendly to that: Please read through this whole thing before you flip off. This is more of a personal reason (important). I use to play on a potato for a computer. I would always lag terrible in every game and the game would crash half the time and get a lot LeaverBusters. Then I got a better computer. Things worked better, but I still have problem. I live more towards the country-side, and while my connection isn't bad, but it is unpredictable. My connection will usually be fine. I will, most of the time, have 60 to 90 ping playing just fine. Then sometimes, out of nowhere, I get 300 to 5000 ping (literally) and my connection goes out and I have to play the waiting game for it to come on. It goes from extremely good connection to extremely terrible connection in about the span of a minute, and i usually get LeaverBuster from not being able to connect. And riot's (wtf) and the community's response is to get a better connection. I'm sorry, but my connection randomly going to shit because of where I live is annoying, but I am not changing it for this game, since every other game I play and website I get on works fine with my connection problems. This is a small reason, but its just the cherry on top.

I had always loved league. I remember when I first got league, all I hated about it was the connection problems I had and the terrible community. And even with the terrible community, I just muted the bad and listened to the good, since I rarely got inters, afkers , or trollers. Then I would just play around with the enemy and use and tested off-meta builds. I literally don't play ranked because I only play this game for fun. But, what do you do if you don't find the game fun anymore. When riot fixes reasons 1, 2, and 3, I might play the game again. It would be nice if you could fix reason 4, but honestly its not too big. But as I said in reason two, I doubt they will.

For point 3, when did you start playing? I started in season 4 and people were insufferable, things are fine now as far as text chat.

People int and stuff, but they did that before anyway

Hey buddy. You can still have fun on league regardless of the meta, same with ranked play. I think you’ve gotta conform or try your hardest to improve! And remember not to tilt.

  1. The Meta changes with the bi weekly patches where things are shifted up and down. Whether or not it’s logical ( looking at you massive TP nerf.) , you’ll have to conform. Whether that be your champion pool, strategy, or even different thinking, you can conform and change to what’s strong / acceptable.

  2. This ones, er, tough. It’s hard to perfectly balance a game, and listening to the community with balance is also tough. Everybody has their own opinion on what’s busted so it’s tough to lock in and say that one thing is a problem. It also differentiates with different ranks and skill groups. It’s subjective, ya know?

  3. I do agree the system is flawed. Peak toxicity though? I don’t think so. You’ll always have toxic people, regardless of any factor. People are just stubborn and hurtful at times. I don’t believe it’s worse than any other time

  4. This one is, like you said, sadly a personal problem and I can’t help much with this one. Might have to be patient and wait to possibly get new WiFi provider with more bandwidth or maybe wait till people aren’t on other WiFi using devices.

If you choose to quit, I respect your choice. I just thought I’d give a bit of insight as to what I personally believe. Thank you for your time!
