Why most players don't play Ivern?

So i've been thinking, why is there not many people playing Ivern, he's really strong to be honest, one of the most annoying junglers to play against, why most players put him aside, its because he is too simple for how he looks? or something else? I would like to see everyone's thoughts. Why don't you play ivern? let me know.

Personally, I like being able to control the game with my damage output, but i just dont think Ivern provides enough damage that I like. Same with playing support in general. I play Rakan, Leona, and Nami as my support picks and it's easily my best performing position but I just dont like that I cant use my damage to make up for the mid or top or jungle who is behind, since with Rakan, Leona, or Nami, I cant really provide much damage unless I go off-meta. I would simply support a damage-less carry, and there's just nothing I can do except try to peel and keep my ADC alive. I dont really have control over the game.

The same thing with Ivern. Yes you can build AP but Im not really a fan of going off-meta. Support items in the jungle is what I would do with him, but, same with support, I cant do much except try to keep my carries alive, and Ive learned that i cant really rely on my teammates very much (especially in Silver)

Again, this is what why I personally dont play Ivern. I like the idea around him and might even pick him up in the future, but not right now.

Im also not very good at jungle in general, so there's that.

because he's useless

He's a support, which is one of the lowest picked roles in the game. You become completely team reliant. Solo carry games are few and far between anyways, but still...

He can't gank lanes with no damage because he brings none himself.

He gets a free enemy camp every time his smite comes off cd, but any fighter jungler can just take ALL of Iverns jungle because he can't fight back, or even last hit with smite.

He has no reliable escape if the jungler tries to come for him, unless he Qs a camp.

He has to have Daisy to get dragon alone, and even then it takes FOREVER, most of 2 bushes, probably a minute and a half. He has zero potential to fight anyone who comes to get him and no way to escape if hes on blue side.

His W can be used against him, and isn't really THAT powerful of an ability.

And he has zero waveclear, something I've come to love on many of my picks. The ability to delete a wave and go be useful.

Basically people learned how to play around his gimmick and he lost all of his early game power. In a 'protect the carry' comp hes okay, but why wouldn't you just pick a tank?

He's niche by design. Lots of people consider the niche champions useless or in need of a rework but I honestly think they're fine as is. Enchanters aren't that good in general right now just because of the state of the game which compounds on his nicheness, it's much better to just have a Lee Sin or Graves who obliterate everyone instead.
