Stacking the Nexus

So I've been playing Nasus recently and I'm starting to get the hang of him, but one thing I can't understand is does the Nexus give Nasus 6 stacks? Since the Nexus is like an inhibitor (which doesn't give stacks), it shouldn't. However, since it gives you gold (+50) like towers, does it mean you get 6 stacks? Riot I need answers!
