Enjoying League is next to impossible now, but I have nothing else to do.

I used to play MMOs, but then the very, very intelligent mainstream gaming community came along and dictated easier games, and are totally fine with F2P and microtransactions, so they're more or less dead as a genre. The only "new" things we get are shitty Korean cash grabs.

When Wildstar died, I tried out League. This was shortly after Bard came out, in early S5. The game was fun, and I actually enjoyed myself. Back then, balance didn't seem so bad, and I didn't feel like Riot was actively conning me. Then the end of season 6 rolls around, and Tencent buys out the company. First thing that happened was we massively buffed ADCs, and they became gods. Then we buffed assassins because we didn't want to nerf ADCs. Then we buffed "juggernauts" because we didn't want to nerf assassins. Then we buffed mages because they couldn't compete. Then we buffed supports. Then we buffed ADCs again...

So now that the game is worse than DOTA when it comes to one shots, we go ahead and introduce even MORE damage. The whole time, we have champs popping up that are actually broken, but are entirely ignored. We release champs that entirely contradict things that Riot said before, and release shit like Hextech and pass "events" and all that. We release prestige skins. We focus 1000% on LC$ and ignore the base game...

... in short, League was becoming shit. Sensible people tried to warn everyone, but no one cares anymore. The same morons that destroyed MMOs have taken over all of gaming, and the entire industry is quickly declining. Of course, tons of games are being developed, and the industry is booming, but any semblance of quality or passion in the industry is just gone.

I hate League. It makes me angry to the point I want to beat the people in charge of Riot and Tencent, and normally I can't even consider hurting a fly. I hate the people that blindly worship obviously horrible companies. I hate the whole idea of "esports" and wish it would die out. And yet I'm stuck. Nintendo is a shitstain now without Iwata around, MMOs are garbage, MOBAs are just bad games, console gaming is a cash grab... I have nowhere to go.

So, thanks, I guess. Keep throwing money at Tencent.
