TfT over Nexus Blitz, really Riot?

Riot, you have been removing or limiting the time on game modes such as Nexus Blitz, all because "Not enough people playing it!". Yet you add this RNG disaster called Team Fight Tactics and decide to keep it right off the bat?

Many people DID play Nexus Blitz, but it wasn't to your standards so you chose to fuck players over who genuinely enjoyed the mode. Or you limit times on other modes such as ARURF/URF which is played frequently as well. Yet you create an auto-chess mode out of desperation after seeing its spike in popularity. Slapping Chibi optional items in to suck more money out of the player base rather then listening to what we actually want. Removing game modes because you decide "not enough traffic so not enough sales" is a good representation of what this company is about.

You don't give a shit about players, just your pocket. Even within your company you can't be bothered to give a shit about your own employees either.

Bring back rotating game modes and make them permanent, or fuck off.

I'm not sorry.

Teamfight tactics is fun. I burned out on Nexus blitz pretty quickly [slayer-jinx-catface]

Slow down your horses mate. Nexus Blitz was on rotation for quite a while. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe at least 1 month. TFT isn't even 1 week old in the Live servers.

They gave the same reason they had for ARURF: player burnout. Everything is explained here: Nexus Blittz Wrap-Up

reminds me of when they dicked over the people who actually played dominion like I did and had a reason to use s karner way back when on his own home turf without those dumb crystals littering rift

Note this: NB was never taken out of alpha. We never saw the completed product. It was rushed out, we were promised that it'd come back more complete, so a lot of people were content waiting for that.

But yet it got cancelled before it exited alpha 2.

They "completed" TFT before releasing it (aside from updates), already decided on a ranked queue, put in the time and money into jumping onto the latest trend before it died

And yet, i find this to be the worst experience of all RGMs. the sloppy, outdated and under-maintained Twisted Treeline feels like a fuckin' masterpiece compared to "Point and Click Adventure - Now with 500% MORE RNG!!!!".

fuck, we'd be better off with the Dark Star gamemode man.

Bless Nexus blitz and all of the time we had with it. One of, if not the best alternating game mode. Would have love to see it become permanent. Lest we forget brothers and sisters. item 3070

Bring back rotating game modes and make them permanent

They've said many times they won't make them permanent as that is not the point behind them. They are there for fun little bursts, where permanently they'd be boring and get too much burnout.

Sure that could be said about the current permanent modes but the game style was built around those as they are what people think of when they see a MOBA.

TFT on the other hand, it's been marketed completely differently from previous modes. You see streamers like Amaz and DisguisedToast, who are known for Hearthstone, playing it now. Plus Twitch even gave it it's own category where as other modes are all just grouped under League Streams. So, they are just looking for what might bring in new players to the game.

Remember the burnout of Nexus Blitz was not surprising because it was tied to event missions and people were pretty much forced to grind it if they wanted event rewards. Riot set up NB's """failure""" themselves (which wasn't a failure since pretty much everyone except contrarians want it back.)

Mfw I never really liked nexus blitz but actually enjoy TFT but these boards posts just shit on the game mode : ^)

I loved nexus blitz, i played about 200 games the first time it came out and about 600 the second time.

It was perfect for trying offmeta builds which is otherwise pretty much impossible with the current game modes. I could play AP Renekton jungle and have a great time but now trying something fun means i have to commit to a 40 minute SR game where i would 100% get flamed.

Nexus blitz encouraged experimentation and most important, having fun.

I sincerely hope Riot reconsiders nexus blitz for a permanent gamemode

What do you mean not enough players played it? The queue up only takes less than 30 seconds.

Nexus Blitz was set up to fail based on how Riot marketed it.

Ur actually stupid TFT is like the most popular game on twitch rn. It’s got way more viewership than actual league

Spiçy7/3/2019, 5:11:40 PM2 votes

Blitz was basically league with a forced timer for how long the game could last. TFT is a whole new game mode, easy to pick up, tons of possibilities, lots to learn. While in game, we say RNG, but part of the game is recognising what the RNG gives you and stray away from the composition you wanted to start with before you started the game.

TFT is here to stay because at one time 500 000+ people we're trying to log in on the PBE at any moment.

Easy ranked implementation, and a possible competitive/tournament is already in works (mid July)

Houst7/3/2019, 8:00:01 PM2 votes

Wholeheartedly agree. I've played league since beta and even only a couple years in they mentioned the need for a faster game mode. Now almost all my friends don't play league anymore cause they don't have time for 45min-1 hour long games (including draft and que), and so I don't play it much anymore either.

When blitz came out we were so hopeful. Was it perfect? No. Little too goofy? Sure, but easily could be pruned, and was a bit. We loved it. We were actually playing league together. 5 vs 5 and we got to choose our champions! Wow! (Side note to how the hell do we not have a draft pick or blind pick Aram at least that would give us a goofy game mode where we can choose who the hell we play with) anyhow, Dominion is gone, TT still feels unsatisfying and part of that is the 3v3ness of it. We need something fast and fun. Blitz is the closest Riot has come, but they see a cost to it and are afraid of what it would do to the player base and even eventually the pro scene. Still needs to happen though. It's the difference between us just watching pro league and actually playing the game. You don't buy skins of you're just watching.

I agree 100% with the sentiment even tho I enioy TfT (not as much as nexus blitz tho) but they are bringing back RGM. They are killing twisted treeline and putting it back in its place. I do still think that they managed the nexus blitz situation poorly.

I logged in just to mock you that's how stupid this comment is, they are a COMPANY ny, they need to make MONEY, and don't compare this game mode to any other, this is the second if not the first most viewed games on twitch rn, it's way more fucking popular then any other game mode, dont be salty, it's people like you that make this community toxic

gotenex7/3/2019, 9:52:44 AM1 votes

I played TFT i really enjoyed it but its got borig really fast, faster than any game mode that was released ever before, TFT is not MOBA its basically a card game, there is a reason i dont play card game: i dont like them, and i get bored really fast, why would you turn league into a card game, you should have made TFT outside of the client, a different game same character, because TFT is not a game mode of league of legends, is ANOTHER VERSION of league of legends..
