Taking the time to recognize how good the lack of exhaust in the current meta feels

As an assassin main, I haven't been appreciating this enough.

Why'd people stop taking it anyway considering how popular assassins and divers are rn?

Because ignite is op

same reason janna isn't picked

when there's 2+ assassins on each team, it doesn't really help anyways

Nobody cares you attention seeker assasin! But am veigar main and when the Final Boss has to go support it sure brings exhaust! It should be standard for support.

Ignite's kinda' the go to 'snowball my lane and carry' method, which, as long as we're not in another ardent-esque protect the kog situation, is the best way to climb. And everyone's arrogant enough to think they'll climb ;)

It's not to say they're equal. Ignite is way too strong right now. But when it comes down to it the issue with exhaust is always 'is the assassin's window of attack predictable enough' and 'after they become targetable, can I press it before their first item 3100item 3147item 3095 item 3145 empowered auto of doom?' if it's no to either, exhaust can become borderline pointless.

i'm guessing due to the fact with true dmg flying around it's hard to make full use of it

People would rather rely on teleport for lane safety than exhaust right now.

I still take it depending on the match up I have against me. I always take ignite against heavy sustain matchups (Mundo & Soraka) and take exhaust against any matchups that are heavily auto attack based (Kalista & Udyr) or if the match up is unknown to me.

it's harder for solo lanes to want to pack exhaust over ignite, junglers essentially can't afford to pack it, and ADCs are selfish creatures who would rather take the extra bit of damage than take their safety into their own hands. Now obviously it would make sense for exhaust to be the dominant SS with how out of control damage has gotten, but let's look at this another way: if we were utilizing exhaust to the extent that we should be right now, Riot 100% guaranteed would have nerfed it again.

It was nerfed and ignite was buffed

Who said I stopped taking it? It's a fuckin godsend right now, and as a mostly Support Lux, if I'm close enough to Ignite, something has gone wrong and I really want that -40% damage....

S0kaX8/12/2018, 9:04:33 PM1 votes

Because 40% damage reduction is nothing when people can deal you 2000 dmg in a couple of seconds.

UnboundHades8/12/2018, 9:43:51 PM1 votes

im pretty sure its just due to people liking to fight early on where the gw and damage from ignite is worth more than exhaust since there isnt gonna be much damage to reduce at early levels anyway when the support is gonna be dealing more or around the same damage as the adc

summoner 14 is much better than summoner 3 will ever be given how things are currently.

There's so much damage in the game now coming from so many sources that a single person doing 40% less damage for 2.5 seconds is pretty worthless compared to 500 true damage, vision and Grievous Wounds.
