Since when were streamers starting to get advertised?

Kinda noticed they had Pokimane and KayPea's twitch featured recently. Is it to keep players engaged? Or to keep those streamers playing?

You mean in the client?

I wouldn't be surprised to be honest. If you watch the popular league streams then you realize that some of them aren't playing league that intensely anymore.

Dyrus for sure as heck just plays other stuff Hashinshin is playing league for like 50% of his streams Poki plays a game, then does something else for 15-30mins, plays another game, then does something else for 15-30mins.

People like Scarra / Gross gore / Tobias / T1 / Trick2G still play it intensely but the others just don't care that much about it I feel. Even the above mentioned, like Tobias for sure doesn't care that much like he used to (Now that I think of it, he plays other random stuff a lot too).

Keep in mind that I don't watch every stream just the ones I mentioned

Maybe Riot realized that and are trying to keep them playing? I could imagine that if some big ones quit that the ones standing on the verge to quit will just quit too. Which could just create a wave of people leaving the game.

I don't know of another reason why streamer should get featured on the client. Unless they have done something mind blowing like creating a sick ass League animation or something... which I think they didn't? As far as I am aware of.

Or maybe I'm just wrong and they wanted to feature some big people in the league community.... for the first time ever
