from levels 1-16 played exclusively Sona with full attack speed and did not know that right click was both attack and move, but thought left click was for attacking and right for only moving, thus resulting in me never auto attacking which made attack speed pointless

I just dont get how this game ever got so huge since there wasnt any beginner information. Every single thing from the existance of hotkeys to what every stat does to (tower)agro to how you get gold i had to find out the hard way. Hell even the existance of smartcasting i only heard about 2 seasons into this game. And then im not even talking about the advanced shit like bufftimers and wavemanagement. And i still havent got a clue how to attackmove properly. This game is a bit like giving people a chessset and hope they will figure it out while in reality they spend the most time just playing war with the pieces.

In a way, it's really appealing.

They did a lot right with their game.

Having people to figure out half, if not more stuff. Back in the day, there wasn't even the meta lanes we have now. You could literally play anything anywhere. That's what made players come up with their own strategy, which formed todays meta.

It's really interesting.

I started thinking things were black and white. AD meant crits and shit. AP meant... well AP. AD characters built AD, and AP built AP. The first time I saw an AP Yi, I was playing Tryndamere and wondering why I wasn't able to kill him despite hitting him for a good 5 seconds, and he nuked me before I could R. I even embarrassingly said in /all chat "sorry you guys have a troll (the yi building AP).

Lowest graphics. Duo top. Duo bot. Anything goes. Evelynn/Nautilus top. Evelynn/Jarvan IV bot. Fizz and Leblanc gave me nightmares. My twitch with madred's bloodrazor and Surge/Heal would shred 5 warmogs Nasus and nobody understood why. (It was the prelude to blade of the ruined king - it did less on hit damage but gave a lot higher stats and also dealt magic damage) Also Urgot was a tank.

The junglers went from happy to crying in pain.

I started playing at the end of season 4, before i hit lv 30 the jungle changes came in. Everyone was complaining about how hard the jungle became, having never actually jungled for my first 20 or so levels I was on pretty even footing with the other junglers simply because they had expectations about their jungle clear that would mess them up while I had no idea why they were complaining. It was still easier than laning after all.

Build max attack speed. Attack fast - more damage. Was buying hp pots all time - even at end of game. Had 5 of those at any point of the game. When first tried Teemo, thought he's AD, never knew about tooltips and was playing him AD max attack speed only...

There was no real meta, games were 212 with adc mid (almost exclusively Ashe) and the only one daring to go into the jungle was Warwick. The game was terribly broken with Crit chance masteries and dodge chance runes.
