Varus has a son? Not exactly

Varus/History

Look I understand that a lot of you are upset with his lore change (personally I love the new lore but it's just my opinion) but I just wanted to clarify something that a lot of people have been using as an argument against his new lore. I know there are many other arguments that can be made about the new lore but one of the main ones I see is about him having a son. The matter of the fact is, he hasn't had a son since 2014. The only time a son is mentioned is in the league judgement but considering that the league was retconned since 2014, that makes the part about him having a son non canon since 2014. I know his old lore still states that he had a family and a lot of you presumed that it was a wife and son, but family can mean many things; from parents to grandparents, sisters to brothers, to wives or husbands. So to say specifically that Varus had a wife and son is false.

Just because the summoners are retconned doesn't make the information null. Seriously.

You do realize that meantioning that when they wrote his lore they gave him a son that the family they gave him when the wrote his story consists of a wife and son, right?

Like it or not, Varus' past was not influenced by the IoW. The removal of the IoW did not remove that his past was established as losing his family while in the line of duty, and through mixed actions of duty and vengeance took on the corrupting power of the Darkin.

Ahem

While i oft play the Devils Advocate...

I guess now i'll play the voice of reason?

Long story short, In the Older lore, Or the "League Compendium", There were more bits and pieces, Along with clarification.

As shown here under "League Judgement" Was Varus' Trial for the Institute of War (Something that was Retconned a while ago)

And in that, It Does Specify a wife and son.

However, This is only in the League compendium back when the IoW was a thing, So it was canon up until the great retcon a few years back.

Any champions lore not yet updated for the IoW retcon operated the same, except removing the parts referencing all that. The old champion judgements were meant to give backstory to the characters, so Varus’s history revealed in his judgement was still true.

I'm a bit late but I wonder how someone that likes Bionicle can be so wrong.
