Did ya hear what Rockstar Games did?

I am starting to like Rockstar even more. They made great games and they are listening to their playerbase. They are fixing the game's economy and it will be patched in a week. Rockstar fucked up once, but they are fixing it and I think people should give them credit for that.

I want Red Dead Redemption, but I don't have PS4 and XONE... fuck me. I will at least buy GTA V.

Didn't finish GTA V when was playing on my friend's console. Now I finally have some time for myself so I can play GTA V and maybe even Dragon Age Inquisition (would love Dragon Age Origin to be remastered btw, would buy that shit immediately).

I love Bioware too, but they really should make a new game, something that would repair their PR after Andromeda (the worst Mass Effect I have ever played ...). They can still make a good Dragon Age. DA has a lot of potential, because it is a fantasy world. Also a lot of interesting plots are still unsolved. I would make a story that would be about other characters, that I would have to care about. Like for example something horrible would happen if I didn't help somebody in that game and even companions would be able to die permanently. I think Dragon Age should be quite dark sometimes, like that shit with blood magic in Origin. That was creepy and I love it.

Or they could just make a KOTOR 3 (i would also buy that immediately, a huge fan). Especially the plot of Raven and Malak was great. There is even a book about that and the MC is a woman, so I should play it again as a cannon character, but the game aged badly. They would need to add more force manipulation tricks. I love being the Sith and control minds of other characters, but Jedi plot was also fine. I went through both several times.

Path of Exile will have a new patch with a new season. Some things will be added, but the game is still the same. It will be great. I need to check who made that game, because I am just playing it without knowledge about that xd I think that they made a good game and they are protecting all well made things about it. Spells are interesting and character development is very complex.

Do you have any other games that are worth mentioning? I want to know what else is there to play. I cannot find anything good lately.

Did ya also hear what Rockstar Games did?

Overworking employees to 100 hour week to push out RDR2, which they bragged about in an interview. Yeah, they later claimed that only a small segment of senior staff had worked 100 hour voluntarily or something, but who really knows? It's not like this is the first time we hear about an AAA game dev being operated like a sweat shop.

What? A company listened to their player base, and is making their company better while making their community happy? I don't know anything about that over here in RIOT land. Then again, Rockstar isn't trying to get themselves onto the competitive world stage. Much like soccer: who needs millions of happy players, when they can have a handful of great players with millions of viewers.

Edit: requires a lot less server space, haha.

Probably should hold off on praising a video game company for doing something right by their customers until they actually do it. "Fixing the economy" could mean only 750 hours of grinding to upgrade your tent instead of 800. You are pretty delusional if you think they aren't going to have some whale harpooning system setup in that game. It is basically just down to how much can the normal customers bitching and moaning get the horrible grind to incentivize microtransactions reduced.

Drugoth12/4/2018, 1:04:46 PM2 votes

They are actually employing a clever sales tactic. It goes something like this:

They decide on a set price that they want to sell things for. Then they inflate those prices ridiculously. It's obvious to the players the price is off so they set the price down to their original intended point and it seems like they are being great developers and listening to feedback when really all along they manipulated you.

Classic technique. Works like a charm.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm really happy with RDR2, it is an amazingly polished game and they definitely deserve praise for the main campaign. However don't delude yourself, their multiplayer microtransactions will be just like in GTAO, except not as much pay to win. (You can't have shit like tanks and a delorean in the wild west)[okay maybe you can have a Delorean]

tbh I don't like a lot of Rockstar games. GTA 5 was made great by the community, not really the game itself. I found the missions and stuff to be extremely boring. Never tried the story because it seemed boring. Red dead looks boring to me as well. We all have our favorite games, doesn't mean that the company that made them is better than every other company because they fix one thing. Some people like certain things and some people like other things. You should focus on what you like, not trying to make what you like sound better than what everyone else likes.

Lol I would hope so after the game was probably already being phased out by RDR2 and not only that hasn't the economy been shit for years. Would've helped for it to be fixed when people were saying this at the beginning not at the end after everyone has already spent money/ grinded for too many hours to get the things they want or just gave up on online and switched to a different game

I have to address Bioware as a developer here.

They developed two of the most beloved products, Dragon age and Mass effect. With Dragon age 2, they ripped off their beautiful game and made it a shell of its former self with a half-assed implemented new combat system. The game was about 1/100th the depth and length of the original. Felt like a cash grab with about 5 hours of actual play for 60 bucks and a crap story. Enter inquisition, which was like an MMO but with 1,000,000 levels of grind quests where you turn this or that in, kill 10 of these, and go fetch this. and was the most in-your-face SJW i've ever seen a game be (that part is whatever. I didn't love one of my favorite main characters from the original getting mad at me because I wouldn't have sex with him as a male character.)

Then take Mass Effect, a brilliant game with amazing depth and awesome storylines. Revolutionary. Enter Mass Effect 2, a shell of its former depth but still an okay game. Solid number 3 too, but with some grind, UNTIL you get to Mass Effect Andromeda. This game was released with so many glitches and bugs and looked awful and somehow they ruined some of the combat. It was literally Mass Effect: Inquisition aka grind 10 rabbit kill quests, then collect 10 relic quests EN MASSE. Even MMO's aren't as shameless as inquisition and andromeda in their courier quests.

Bioware, until redeemed, is a complete sell-out. I almost don't blame them since every AAA developer is headed in that direction. I mean share-holders and corporations run the world, and small mobile phone game developers can rake in 10 times the cash for 1/100th the work right now. Which is why even Blizzard is hopping on the bandwagon. Everyone will do it, until it kills the video game market. After the freemium devil model dies, we can begin again I hope.

I love the Dragon Age series and DA:I is probably my most played game this gen after League. They wait hurts for the next game but Bioware/EA are intent on making a team shooter thing in Anthem.

Anthem looks questionable, empty, at the moment, which is sad. They claim there's a story but I fear it'll just be like Destiny 'story' which in reality is just there to sell the game but the 'grind' is there to keep you playing. I want a massive story, not MP thing from Bioware. That's their strength, I want characters, personalities and threat. ME:A had none of that.

On the subject of the RDR:Online, how much are the lowerin the grind? I heard from Jim Sterling it's up to 8 hours to get 1 gold bar. We are lucky if we get 1 or 2 hours a day to play games. Same with BO4 thing, it's just a pointless grind and playing constantly for days on end and you still may not even reach the limit in the time. But sadly as long as people do pay into it, as long as rich streamers and youtubers shove thousands to test how long it takes or test the success of loot boxes, these companies will still do it. For every 20 people who don't spend anything extra on Overwatch, there is one Youtuber who spent £200 extra for the loot boxes just to see what they can get during an event. This is more than DLC may ever make. :P

Hopefully Anthem won't have this kind of stuff but sadly it's EA.

Shit game that gets forgiven for being "freemium". Owned by Tencent developed by Grinding Gear Games.

I recommend Square Enix games. Don't underestimate their classic games. They've been making great games for like 40 years.

I personally didn't like rdr2, the first 50% of it sucked honestly. The last 50% was more fun (yes I finished the story) The gameplay also got stale after a while And the random events sucked (made a bit of sense though) I liked god of war more tbh.

Grinding Gear Games is pretty great at actually staying true to the player base and coming out with new content.

Obsidian games were behind the creation of Fallout New Vegas, arguably the best Fallout in the series. They are also the creators of Pillars of Eternity which is by far one of the best RPGs I've played in a long time.

I really enjoy the games they make, and they deserve a mention.

I used to play GTA Online back when it was released on Last Gen Consoles (PS3/XB360). Those were some fun times, they kind of came to an end once the New Gen Consoles & the PC version came out. With all the Content they added to the old gen versions of the game, the quality started to get all messy (Glitches with visuals became more & more frequent). After they moved to the Newer Consoles & PC, they were able to add even more stuff than they ever could on PS3 or XB360.

Would love to pick it back up one of these days, some of my favorite vehicles from the Older GTA games like the Stallion Muscle Car were added since the jump & they added alot more fun stuff.

BLACK REALM GOD12/4/2018, 7:20:18 PM1 votes

just waiting on the next nether realm game. manhunt 3. max payne 4. dead rising 5. resident evil 8. smash brothers ultimate. luigi's mansion 3. animal crossing (this time it doesnt suck). the fire emblem after 3 houses because let's be honest... those bands of followers that attack with the heroes makes the game lame. a sims game that doesnt suck for console. burnout revenge 2. a warriors title that actually looks and feels as good as a modern warriors game should. a new civilization game for console. a game that plays like fire emblem, but looks like a warriors game mixed with xcom, but also has blood bowl 2's online versus mode. a digimon game that admits everything up to this point has been a disaster and a complete reboot of the series that tells the story of having a digital pet device that isn't just a toy, but a real world with digimon that aren't just lame reasons to sell new bandai toys and fanservice. a new onimusha that plays and feels like a modern onimusha. a new tenchu game that isn't plagued with terrible production and marketing. AND a god game made by a AAA developer that isnt loaded with micro transactions and pointless fluff.
