Opinion on Sylas changes once again?

Sylas is gearing up to be like Ryze except it being mini-reworks instead of full ones since the balance team has no idea what they are doing clearly with this new patch.

So im wondering what people think about Sylas's changes especially, i dont play him enough to have a great opinion but overall it looks like a nerf instead of a buff to me. Its not like he was even performing great anymore so i dont understand the changes which mostly look like nerfs to me, his champion design to me has always looked like hes supposed to be good early/mid game but clearly they want him to wait for late-game now. Most of all, it looks like they've put ALL his power into his passive as everything else looks like nerfs besides their scaling into late game.

All it's done is turn what is supposed to be an AP fighter into a clunky assassin. Removing his AA resets and animation cancels removes all skill expression from the champion (ironic considering Riven's entire existence is built upon a goddamn bug). The addition of AS while his passive is active does little to actually smooth his gameplay out.

The damage increases basically mean a squishy will be either oneshot or near enough half healthed with E2 into W. Why he needs an 100% AP scaling on E2 is beyond me.

Now if Riot decided at long last to support his archetype with itemisation we would not be having this conversation as his kit's healing/shielding (the latter of which is now gone completely) would be able to be retooled or reworked to go with said itemisation.

Some opportunities that we would like to pursue with freed up space

More choice and options in lethality builds An ap bruiser / ap melee item All around cleanup of support items, get some more choice in there and dont force players into 5 actives in one build

Funny how Riot added new lethality items, reworked the support items but neglected to fix the problem with champs like Sylas and Diana.

These changes will probably make him easier to balance, but they dramatically lower his skill ceiling and turn him into an AP assassin, not the AP bruiser/skirmisher he's supposed to be. His gameplay won't be smooth enough to be popular with assassin players, and he won't be tanky enough to attract bruiser players.

Sylas needed the opposite of these changes. Lower his damage, lower his cooldowns, and improve his defenses. He should be a skirmisher that can't kill you in one rotation, but will chase you to the ends of the Earth until he does, using powerful defensive abilities to stay in the thick of things.

Its a massive nerf his dueling potential its crippled would not touch it for top anymore, neither for mid. Looks so so for jungle tho.

PD dunno why they are nerfing him, when there is a skin on the way riot work on weird ways.

Yeah it's kind if werid they want him to be an ap brawler so they got rid of his sheilds and tank stats... and added high ap rations... litteraly the dumbest fucking thing ever

Gotta love the consistency of animations cancel in this game. Sylas is a problem, but Riven is fine. What a joke.

The gave him more damage and lower cd's in tern for making his damage harder to get out. His early game base stats are pretty weak though I don't know what that is about. Highest HP in the game at level 18 though.
