Hurricane Dorian Relief Effort Riot Games?

Does any one know if Riot is going to be making any attempts at sending Hurricane Relief to the Southern Eastern United States/Bahamas?

I think this is a good idea for Riot if there isn't a plan already in place.

It'd be pretty dang upsetting if there is no plan or thought of sending anything.(Total Guilt Tripping Tactic)

Also, please no negative Nancy comments slamming Riot or others... This isn't about Riot or you, its about helping a lot of people who have just had their lives completely uprooted and ruined.

I can list off any number of companies that aren't directly impacting Hurricane Dorian relief but still donate money/time/resources to other charities and/or for other means.

Unfortunately, not every company can provide aid in every disaster, and there are a number of other valid places worldwide that are in just as dire (or more dire) need of aid. It seems odd to single out this one.

I mean, it would be logical to help out the most severe storms wouldn't you agree? Have you seen the Bahamas?

Though I agree that companies can't help during every crisis, I do believe that when storms such as Dorian occur(being one of the worst hurricanes on record), that Billion Dollar Industries should at least make an effort by creating and matching a donation pool.

Example: Riot matching dollar for dollar up to $1Million dollars in Relief.

Make it both a community thing and a company thing. I think it's responsible for a company like Riot or any gaming industry to at least try and reach out and make an effort in showing they care. Like I said, I agree with you that not every company can help every disaster, but the worse disasters generally have a bigger impact on the community and should get better attention.

Ultimately, I think that it would say that Riot cares more about helping people than the rest of the League of Legends community likes to think that they do.

The issue then becomes where is the line? What if another, "more powerful" storm hits after Dorian? What if they just keep getting stronger?

The money, time, and resources are much better spent donating to charities that can use the money well. Riot is not going to fly employees to help in person, and Riot does not have the logistics for large movements of and purchases of items that would help - making it much more costly for Riot to assist than donating to charities such as the Red Cross, etc.
