Tell me how Sona was a better choice for the "Space Pirate" theme over Kled

JetRam··10 votes·3,586 views

Kled was released on 2016-08-10 and still only has one skin which was given on release (which most of the mains hate). I really feel like riot missed an opportunity here. A space pirate themed Kled with an alien Skaarl would have been so cool.

So just screw a champion that has had no skin for over 2 year right?

Not at all, but they've clearly designed this lot to be a fully functional team in the game, so they needed a support somewhere. Top: Malphite Mid: Yasuo Jungle: Kayn Bot: Jinx Support: Sona

If you want to complain, complain about Malphite taking the top slot, not Sona taking the support slot for the team.

Are you implying that KLED is NOT a good support?

Even if they do , the Sona skin isn't that cool and as a Sona player I won't buy it , this sounds funny for I'm all for the Yasuo and Kayn skins

I don't know if I'd see Kled as a "holy damsel in distress" kind of character.

I agree that Kled would have been awesome for this skin line.

But I cannot get behind an argument that demands or complains to get their way just because the champion "deserves" a skin more.

The support skin should've gone to Thresh. That can be better played out thematically AND give him plenty of space-related stuff to make him a counter part to AstroNautilus.

I heavily disagree with how all of the latest High Noon skins were handled and I think they should have renamed them to make it clear they were "supernatural western".

Thresh just got his High Noon, as you noted. I don't particularly think he would have done well for this line, mainly because they did need at least 1 other female character to round out the crew, plus Malphite already fits the "awkward odd alien" trope for space pirates. I'm not convinced there's a way Thresh could have fit effortlessly into this skin line.

Either way, I'm sure they could have found someone else better than Sona.

Thresh came to mind mostly because of AstroNautilus. However I realize now that he also already has Dark Star and Deep Terror to cover "space" and "pirate" respectively.

You make same post on reddit you got explained by someone telling "how the hell Kled would fit distressed damsel theme better than sona" You come to boards telling same shit and expecting different results. Trully definition of insanity

The only support I could see working better is Taric and only if they are willing to change his hammer into a wrench though a cybernetic Zyra might be interesting.

Sona is fine. I'm not sure how much I like the skin, she's fine.

I think it's really important for a new skin line to feature popular champions so it's more profitable. That doesn't mean Kled won't even have a skin from this alt universe. If this skin line does well enough we might have a second wave wich features Kled and other characters in need of a skin. Though I agree Kled needs a skin [sg-soraka] but it would be less risky to give him a skin from an already stablished and already profitable skin line. I feel he could be an omega squad member or having a spoky Harrowing skin. Or a Valentine's skin

I actually think Camille would've been a better choice for the bad guy these space pirates have to fight. She's already got that steampunkish-guardians of the galaxy / borderlands aesthetic; and being head of a crime syndicate in the future space world wouldn't be that far-fetched an idea

Sona is not a pirate

She looks more like a captured Space Princess to me.

Maybe pulling a move similar to the opening of FF9. A group of bandits launch a raid to kidnap her, only to get there and find she's more then willing to go with just about ANYONE if it ment getting out of her castle.

That would be a fun angle. :)

Very!

After the disaster that was 8, Square took a step back to a more cartoon like aesthetic and high fantasy story line. It's not perfect, but its my 3rd favorite Final Fantasy after 6 and 7.
