It's been said 6518456456897631687 times before, but damn this client is the worst piece of crap, even compared to the abomination that is the Spotify app. How does RIOT struggle with this so hard? I have seen better built clients with 20x the elements, and they run flawlessly. Universally. It is literally only this client that refuses to launch, freezes my computer, refuses to load into game, sometimes arbitrarily closes, can't be run with most other programs, etc. It's not even a load issue, it's the client choking itself in the closet by itself, while my computer happily runs every single other app open on it except League.

I mean I'd say fix it, but I'm not holding out hope. Too many skins to make and sell, can't afford the clientwork.

Good thing you don't have nProtect GameGuard installed then. That's a literal rootkit.

I'm assuming their client uses an HTML and CSS wrapper. It's basically interpreted like a browser for faster deployment of content. Text and images and other resources get loaded over HTTPS, DNS, piping and network issues, but they didn't implement any caching system as far as I can tell? So all this data has to get constantly pulled down and parsed locally, probably by JSON or XML or whatever.

While its true that its fast for deployment, it requires more work out of the CPU especially if the data is not optimized and especially if the computer and server is already under load. If I run the game under VS debugger, the crash happens after timing out when not receiving a complete piece of packet data through socket from any one user that it expects to be completed, so it tries to create variables and perform operations that are illegal. It took me only 30 minutes to pin point this. It's a combination of the server giving your client junk and other users' data in your game. Why not wait until the socket has everything, and drop and perform a clean re-fetch if the data received fails checks?? I can literally fix this in 10 minutes.

If that's what I'm thinking of (gets stuck on loading screen and you're unable to close the screen), it's not Riot's problem. It's Microsoft's blatant incompetence. Even fucking Apple did it right by making the easier way the one that allowed you to close things properly even when fullscreened. Your only option is to either switch to a Mac or play in Borderless/Windowed.

I have legitimately never had any issue (besides ping) running League with any other program open. Are you referring to the "can't run anything with cheat engine in it" thing? Or is this issue with other programs as well?

what i really want an answer to is why riot cant hire 2 students to make them a new client. THIS is the question i would ask riot if i could ask them 1 thing.

Literally happened just now

Loading screen freezes but of course without indication unless you click on the screen to make the error message appear, I get into game 3 minutes later because this client is a burning trash can.

My client is also lagging so hard it takes 6 seconds to register where I clicked and its only resently started doing this please fix the bugs.
