Is This a Bug?
Placement wins, 10/10. Next person in league, placement wins, 6/10. I can't help but feel like something went wrong here. What in the hell happened here?

Most likely joined a group where all of them happened to have played ranked a season ago. Every season mmr is reset softly, meaning that in the next round of provisional games their previous mmr is taken into account. So if they had silver mmr last season and only won 6 games, then their mmr would roughly stay the same. However, if you won all 10 of your games, but these are your first 10 ranked games, you mmr starts from the neutral mmr, and climbs significantly to silver mmr. MMR = matchmaking rating ~ ELO
