Advice needed from experienced Volibear mains

Hello guys :) I am main support Blitz / Lux currently at plat. I consider switching from support to jungle because I want to make bigger impact on the outcome. I think support role is the least influential for the outcome of the game.

I have some experience in the jungle as but I think that is kinda strong at the moment. I see that most of the player pick aftershock for primary rune but I think that Predator is going to be OP early game when lane advantage is decided. Also conqueror is great for skirmishes in jungle or in general. Also it seems that nobody picks sorcery as secondary while there is celerity which will help a lot catching enemies.

How does volibear feels in game ? When behind in gold ? When winning ? Any advice ?

I had watched a lot of games in YT and find this champ to be secret OP pick but receiving feedback from someone who plays him a lot will be better i think.

Don't take Predator.

You can take Aftershock or PTA. Challenger Volibear OTP in the jungle runs PTA with Inspiration secondary, taking Hexflash and Approach Velocity. PTA because Conqueror isn't worth anymore after the nerfs, Triumph, Alacrity (Tenacity if necessary) and Coup de Grace. He takes Hex Flash because it allows Volibear to dodge enemy wards when approaching for ganks and get onto enemies from unexpected angles. Approach Velocity has enormous synergy with his E and his red buff and makes it hard to disengage him.

I would use your intuition for what you need on a game by game basis. If you don't expect to be able to get a lot of ganks because your lanes are weaker or the enemy is just too mobile, or you expect that you will have to be the primary front line, I would take Aftershock. PTA is much better for early skirmishing with the enemy jungle and bringing more damage to ganks.

Volibear absolutely HAS to be ahead to be anything other than a peel bot. He has an expensive damage build and scales arguably as poorly as Pantheon due to how he only really has 1 hard scaling on his W.

Learn what your good and bad matchups are and don't pick him into teams that can kite you out of existence.

Thanks for the info. PTA also seems good, in fact I didn't think of Approach Velocity + red buff. It sound really good and hard for the enemy to disengage , specially in the early game.
