MMR OR PREVIOUS RANK?(PROVISIONAL PLACEMENTS)

Last season I ended up gold 5 after much effort since I was originally placed in bronze 5 on my provisionals.This season,I got placed s2 with something that must have been like 7 wins and 3 defeats.I just reached platinum,even went up to p3 but lost many games in a row and I'm once again p5 with a g2-g1 mmr.Will my bad mmr affect my placement next season or will my actual rank make up for it or something?
