Why are people banning her in the freaking out over her in the first place? Granted, I Haven't really played SR in a long time, but she was never some monolithic monster that deserved this kind of attention.
If you can handle a traditional poke lane, you can beat Solo Goat. As far as the lane is concerned, that's all she has going for her. And barely even that.

I don't see the problem with Soraka top. I DESPISE the idea that a champion is forced into a specific role as designated by our rito overlords and if they do not fit the riot standard are beaten into oblivion with nerfs. It kills the bulk of experimentation and strategizing that could/should be occurring in a moba because you know strategy is supposed to matter.
If there is anything to be actually upset about it should be that Soraka top is viable due to the actual systemic problem with top lane - it is an island that has little to no bearing on the overall course of the game. The most powerful objectives are between mid lane and bot lane, where the coincidentally is more players.
If riot wants top lane to matter they either swap the baron/dragon pits or make rift herald extremely important to contest just like dragons are.
