Jungle tilts me a lot

I'm trying to learn this role but i get outclassed every damned game. I need a jungle main to tell me wtd do i do wrong. When i try to gank a lane, they usually blow summoners and escape, 1 min later enemy jungler ganks the same lane and gets a kill. I get counterjungled a lot and i dont feel confident myself to counterjungle since whenver i do it, the enemy team comes to help. I basically only counterjungle when i see the enemy ganking, which eventually is not worth because the enemy jungler is already benefitting other lanes while im there just farming their jungle.

I got told by a main jungler that apparently its better to camp one lane and get it ahead, whenever I do it, that lane either is not strong enough to carry or the enemy jungler just again is more effective in the ganks and puts his team on a better spot.

This role tilts me so much but i really dont feel like going anywhere else with the current meta.
