Should support shove lanes if team is too afraid to and sits in jg doing nothing?

So lately I hear lots of complaining about how I kill big waves... but most the time my team is sitting in jg scared. I have wards and vision all over the map. There shouldn't be any reason why they can't get to big waves before me, or at the same time as me. They sit in jg waiting...... and I see our waves being shoved in. So I go and shove back. Then they ping and get mad as they try to catch up.

What's even more irritating is when I go to shove a lane, I only try to kill back cs and cannon (this allows big waves to build and shove while you can be elsewhere on map). But some teammate follows up afterwords killing front cs so non-cannon-wave meets cannon-wave up ahead... ultimately forcing the wave to shove back. The most irritating thing of all is if I didn't try to shove the wave, the teammate wouldn't have been there and I could have used my time helping elsewhere.

As you can see in screen shot, support has highest cs. This is because my team just sat at towers or in jg. I was the only one shoving waves. Do you think I did the right thing here?

If you want to bounce a wave, you should do it with your ADC present. If your teammate isn't responding to that, ask someone else on the top (top, maybe?) to do it and force a lane switch with your ADC (perfectly fine in this meta). If nobody wants to do it, take your elo and mmr into consideration. Having game knowledge is good but it'll get you nowhere if you don't become a leader from the start of the game.

This is why I stopped supporting two seasons ago. I now play jungle only. 100% of the time I am involved with how the game flows, where and when objectives get taken, and if lanes need to be shoved, I do it myself and tell my teammates why I did it and what objectives we can take because we have top and bottom pushing (baron calls or dragon calls). You really shouldn't be bouncing waves as a support, but if you do you need to expect nobody will have that game knowledge unless you're diamond+.

While I placed gold last season (I just get season rewards) I'm smart enough to have lots of game knowledge to know when and how to bounce waves properly and timing them for objectives but you can't expect anyone even in master/challenger to do this properly.

If I do play support, I always type to my ADC why they need to stay and shove the wave.

I don't know what your elo is, but I'm guessing it's somewhat lower, so, I mean, do whatever it takes to get you out of that bracket to get you in games where players don't do that. Go with your best judgment. If you think it'll win you the game, go for it.

You're playing lux support. You're not a support; you're a second mid laner. If you have to take some cs, it's not really a bad thing. Just make sure your team doesn't moronically engage while you're shoving a wave.
